Maybe that's why they lost the pentagon deal.

According to whispers from the rumor mill, AMD’s next-gen RDNA 3 based Navi 33 (RX 7800 XT) die is all set to be taped out (finalized) in the last quarter of 2021. Additionally, the Navi 31 (RX 7900 XT) flagship which is going to be based on an MCM (chiplet) design is allegedly going to pack a total of over 15 thousand cores (15,360 to be exact). That’s pretty insane especially if you consider that the Radeon RX 6900 XT which is based on the full-fledged Navi 21 die consists of *just* 5,120 stream processors.

I don't think either company will have these issues next year.

Excited to see what AMD can do with MCM GPU's, given how successful they were with them on the CPU side. Triple the cores of a 6900XT is pretty bonkers to think about.

Nvidia's Hopper arch is MCM as well, and then Intel thinks they have the best.

I think it's best for me to just wait it out right now and not overspend on a 3080ti as much as I want it. Still getting 100+ FPS on pubg right now with my 3070 at 4k, so that can do for now

Battlefield will be an interesting one to see if I actually need to upgrade or not

Yeah I've got to get at least a 6700XT by Battlefield if not a 6800 non XT.

If I really get the one from today, I might sell it to you at cost + shipping if you’re interested.

I'll keep that in mind. Gonna keep trying for a 6800 as main choice.

May not be the right spot to ask - but I have a PC that I put together back in 2013. It still runs fine for what I use it for. However, if I want to get back into gaming with newer games, then I will need an upgrade.

Currently:

AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor 4.00 GHz
AMD Radeon R9 200 Series GPU
8 GB RAM

I am thinking my best bet is to aim for a prebuilt? Thoughts?

AMD CEO confirms Zen4 and RDNA3 is on track for 2022 launch

Zen 3+ refresh this fall, 5nm based Zen4 on track for next year, new platform + DDR5.

quote:

AMD has not publicly confirmed the launch date for RDNA3 GPUs, however, the last two weeks were filled with rumors on these new GPUs. AMD is expected to launch as many as four RDNA3 GPUs, including Navi 31 and 32, both expected to feature multi-chip design, and Navi 33 and 34 which are to be monolithic.

quote:

AMD expects the component shortages to continue throughout 2021, but with a good outlook for 2022.

i'd go with a prebuilt option. amazon has a asus rog prebuilt with a 3070 for $1700. it's out of stock right now unless you want to pay more than that.

Amazon

Also, follow the GPU thread of mine. lots of deals get posted there pretty often. today (7/29), AMD is expected to drop some of their 6000 series cards. antonline usually has some EVGA bundles for sale off and on as well.

another prebuilt option would be NZXT. alot of streamers use them.

Looking for some advice on fan configuration in a new build. Scored a 5000D for cheap - LINK

Have a 240mm AIO. Should I do 3 120mm front intake, AIO top exhaust, 2 rear 120mm exhaust (plus the one PSU)?

Only my second build ever so not great with this part.

I've never put my hands on that case, and it's been a while since watching the GamersNexus review (LINK ), but my kneejerk is a bank of three 120mm on the front for intake, ignore the side bank, put one fan on the rear for exhaust and put the 240 aio on the top, as far back as it goes. I wouldn't put three fans on the top, as the one in the front is just going to immediately vent the fresh, cool air you have coming in.

Which I appreciate is mostly what you posted, though I'm not sure where you're putting two 120s on the rear. I suppose you could mean rad on the top all the way to the front, then a third fan towards the back on the top, but I don't think I would do that, either. Three filtered intake fans running against one unfiltered exhaust and two obstructed aio exhaust is already going to be right about neutral pressure. If you add another exhaust fan, you might go negative, which I don't love.

So about that 6600Xt launch, again just have to laugh at the pricing structure. Got a 5700 XT for $350 at microcenter in ($400-$50 bundle with mobo/cpu) in Summer 2019, now the "MSRP" for a technically lower end 6600XT is $379 and in this market things will go for $600 easily. A 5600XT stickered for $279.

Good lord nvidia and AMD are absolutely raping us. How much we want to bet even when supply can meet demand later this year or early next this raising of sticker prices doesnt fall back? Just crazy to think about MSRP's for a lower-mid range range card like a 5600XT/6600XT have risen $100 in this short a time.

What will a 6500XT sticker for, $249-$269?

$130m Loss Expected for Epic Games Store Exclusives in First Wave

quote:

The first wave of Epic Games Store exclusive is proving to be pretty pricey. According to documents sourced from the Epic vs. Apple legal battle, it looks like the first 23 games it gave away are going to lose Epic Games a cool $130 million.

What is fortnite still bringing in for them?

Looking to buy a house in BR soon most likely, so I can finally build out my setup to how I want. I'm keeping my LG950 as my center monitor, duh, but I'm planning on adding two 4k monitors on each side a 4k TV on top of it all. Thankfully the GN950 has no branding on it at all, so I can likely go with any pair of cheap 4k monitors to put along side.

Big question is, what's the best cheap 4k TV (48-55") to put as my top display?
