Yeah for me gaming on it is down the line of importance, more of a novelty for rare situations than anything else. Main thing is portability.

So it seems like, even though it's going to run $1800, I get the 13" form factor, portability as a tablet, light gaming, and excellent build quality/design.

Yeah just that extra 0.75" and whatever extra weight makes a huge difference as a tablet alone.

The Surface line is super nice. Esp the Surface Book. It might be my favorite keyboard.

I have fallen down a surface line worm hole.

The Surface Studio is too awesome, I wish I had an excuse to waste the money on one.

Man if they had the top end Intel+Vega chip Studio refresh coming out I would almost yolo for one. As is though, $3199 for a 6th gen i7 and a 2GB 960M? Naw. 8th gen i7 and 1050/160 or Vega? On sale maybe.

Yeah. Wish it offered more for internals.

Leo Laporte of TWiT loves the thing. It replaced his laptop for conducting their weekly show.

Yeah they need a refresh, $3499 gets you a 6th gen i7 and 2GB 965M. Rooough.

Surface products definitely seem overpriced by a decent chunk. I'm really having a hard time pulling the trigger.

I was going to pick up a used SP4 before I got my laptop. Those machines are just amazing.

But I do hate how they went the Apple route for pricing. Seems like most companies are doing it for their thin and lights these days (XPS, HP, MS Surface, etc)

Yeah I've looked at the 2017 refresh Surface Pro but even then at $1399 for the i7 8gb 256gb model by the time I add the type cover and pen I'm just a couple hundred short of the Surface Book 2 with better specs.

It's pretty annoying when you're running a $200 off sale and it's still hard to pull the trigger. Their pricing definitely sucks.

Made a decision to just go with the newest Surface Pro i7 8gb/256gb, $1200 brand new off eBay. I just couldn't wrap my head ahead 2K for the Book 2 and still having just 8GB/256GB for that much money. Ordered the alcantara type cover and surface pen off Amazon as well.

I think I can still do some CSGO/League with the Iris Plus 640?

Well if it doesn't wet my whistle I shall resell her and buy a Book 2.

I think it will fit what I'm looking for, excited for it to get here.

Do any of y'all have experience with the Founders Edition cards straight from Nvidia? There's a good deal locally on a 1080 Ti (still above MSRP, of course) but I've read things about the blower being ridiculously loud.
I've always gone EVGA because of their customer service reputation but the prices are ridiculous right now.

FE coolers are the sexiest coolers out there.

They'll certainly be louder, but they aren't "worse" than any other card

Everyone here.

That cooler has been default cooler since OG TITAN in 2013.

Edt: the refined one is the exact same for the most part.

I can't believe this mining shite has lasted so long this time around. I guess it hit a lull for a short while but came back full force. Any scummy companies taking ASIC preoders with unknown release dates?

People are still making money on alts, and they will be for awhile. Until many of them die off, there will continue to be opportunities to make money in alts.

I guess. A 1080ti only makes $80/month now. The 10 month return on them right now is insanely high for new miners to get into, so they've been slowly coming back down to earth with their prices

Yeah not worth the trouble of turning on my 1080 Tis to mine, even though they've been completely idle for two months now. Makes the room too warm.

I just hate seeing the GPU market this way, where people are happy to find a card that's only a few dollars above retail.

You probably could have had you 1080tis paid off if you mined them like a month ago

A dude on r/hardwareswap is selling a new 1080 Ti FE for $750 locally. I offered him $800 to ship it here but he only wants to meet FTF in San Diego.
$800 is basically MSRP for me because I made $100 flipping a GTX 960 recently.
