My Little Village Review

I went to The Little Village this weekend for the first time in over a year. My wife and I used to love this place at the old location with the slanted floor, but we've only been once to the new location. I was shocked at how much this place had gone downhill.
Drinks - we went at 7:30 on Friday and my wife ordered a glass of Pinot noir from the menu and they were out of it. She tried to order a different one and they were out of that too. Third time was a charm and she settled on some more expensive glass she'd never heard of. I asked for an old fashioned and asked if they had rye, and the waitress looked at me like I was insane. She went to the bar and the bartender said they didn't, but they made my drink with Knob Creek which was fine. I should have ordered something else because this was a really bad cocktail and not a great start.
We started with an order of the Village bread, which was tasty as usual but not spectacular. We both got the sensation salads which were pretty good, but nothing great. Wife got the eggplant Parmesan which looked almost like lasagna, with overcooked spaghetti on the side. I got the fish almondine (which is tilapia unless you request something different), I requested the snapper. It was very, very good. My side of broccoli was nothing special....that's what I get to trying to eat healthier.
The service was pretty bad. Our waitress seemed like someone who should be working at Applebee's. The other servers did not look much better.
All in all, I feel like this place has gone downhill since the last time I went there, and I don't think I will be going back soon. I know it was never the best place in the world, and I wasn't expecting it to be. But for the prices they charge and the image they are trying to uphold as a pretty nice restaurant, this one really missed the mark.
What does everyone else think of this place?

Vastly overrated. Gino's and Ruffino's much better places.

I like it but I never spend more than $60 for two people. A couple beers or glass of wine, a salad, a $14 Italian dish, and bread.
If you're getting the expensive items, i agree to go elsewhere.

If for some strange reason I ever go back to either one I'll be sure to bring a condom because I don't want to get pregnant.

I love the LV Airline spaghetti sauce, but like LL I wouldn't drop a lot of $$$ there. It pisses me off that there's no other bread option than that expensive hunk of mess they serve.
The staff at LV Airline are horrible, and I'd love to see them on an episode of Restaurant Stakeout.

Is that rude woman still the manager at the airline location? If so, I can't imagine how she has a job in hospitality.

She actually likes me and I don't have a problem with her. But I can see why most everyone else would...That's if, we're talking about the same person.

Unbelievable because she is horrible.

I havent been since they moved locations downtown. So many bad reviews since they did that not sure when I would make a return trip. Really was not impressed when they had someone from the restaurant posting here and being rude.

I thought maybe that broad was related to the owner or something. One time I went, she was very nice...another time, she was just foul. The waitstaff is consistently shitty, though.

I don't think she is related to Wayne Stabiler. I have never had a good experience at any of his restaurants.

Agreed. My wife and I have been to Little Village just once and will not be going back.

LV on Airline is terrible...never eating there again. Worst steak I've ordered that cost more than $5 (setting a low dollar value, as maybe there is a shittier steak somewhere for less than $5 that I don't know about).....

I like the food but our waiter Friday was a dickhead. However our waiter a few weeks ago at Gino's was terrible. I am constantly amazed at how bad service has gotten lately. We went to Mr B's last night and it was bad there too.

Had a bad lunch experience last Thursday at the downtown location.
I don't think anyone finished our meal. Lobster Bisque was awful. Seemed like water was added to it to stretch amount.
