It's equal for me between philip morris international and kinder morgan inc.....love PM with the growth of smokers internationally and also on the play of the dollar declining boosting their revenues since all transactions are overseas not to mention a 3.7% and growing yield....

KMI bc we're gonna pump out more oil than saudi arabia in 2020 and this is who is gonna move it underground and it sports a 4% and growing yield

Think Ill hold PM forever

Would love to hear others biggest positions and how long you plan on holding

I've done mostly mutual funds and ETF's focused on the S&P Index, Russell 3000 and a foreign emerging market indexes.

I know, quite boring and it deprives me of the opportunity to talk about the hot stock buy I got into when talking at the local golf course.

But I'm still a buy and hold investor and its working for me...

FBIOX
MON
COP

ETA: I'm a very, very boring investor. Betting people like to eat, need oil, and on biotechnology.

Currently National Oilwell Varco, then Apple, followed by Ivanhoe Energy. In the black on NOV and IVAN, in the red by 5% on Apple.

I have a lot of JPM and Aflac on paper.

In scottrade my 2 largest are XOM and TSH.
Also just put a fairly large stake in VMW.

XOM. Worked for them for 32 years. No need to sell it at this point. The dividends pay for football tickets, Christmas, vacations, etc. I will roll it at some point if it looks like the capital gains rate is in danger of being raised again.

Investment RE - free cash flow, ROI, tax advantages
Individual TIPS and I-Bonds bought when coupons were ~ 3% + inflation adjustment
VSS bought in 4/2009
VEIRX same
VIG
VDE
XOM last added when BP rocked sector pricing

I don't get the love for DRIPs, especially in a taxable account just because of all the small, irregular shares purchased and potential tax headache. It would be much simpler to open an account where you get free trades, like WellsTrade with PMA, get 100 free trades and let all dividends flow to cash, then buy larger round lots of whatever is the best investment opportunity at that time. I don't have a single taxable holding that reinvests dividends or capital gains. I don't necessarily believe past performance will be mirrored in the future, nor do I own any individual Chinese nor Russian shares as the investment risk, due to a myriad of issues, is extreme.
