The Allman Brothers band thread a week ago about Live at Filimore East got me intrigued so I listened to the whole album and absolutely loved it! When I was younger, before I started playing guitar, and before I found my love and passion for music I hated listening to live songs, I always wanted the studio version because it "sounded the best".. but now that I'm older I understand the intimacy and emotion that live performances can evoke.
That being said, list me your top 5 live performance albums so I can start listening to some of them this weekend.
Happy friday music board

Black Crowes and Jimmy Page live at the Greek
Ben Folds Live
Neil Young live from Massy Hall

For those who haven't listened to the Page and the Crows, do yourself a favor, it's pretty great.

Agree with most.
But I would have to add Secret World - Peter Gabriel.

1. Deep Purple - Made In Japan
2. Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour 1974
3. Nils Lofgren - Back It Up (Authorized Bootleg)
4. Roy Buchanan - Live Stock
5. Ten Years After - Recorded Live
These are a few of my favorites. I hadn't seen them mentioned, and you asked for suggestions to broaden your horizons. I hope you enjoy them.

I'm going to add performances from Budokan.
Cheap Trick and Bob Dylan had great recordings there.
