Worst descritpion of a channel for its programming: MTV vs TLC

I grew up when MTV was actually MUSIC television so this may be the biggest joke out there to see what this channel has become. I don't really understand why they don't just change the name.
On the other hand, the gall to have "Learning" in your title with the programming line-up rolled out there on this channel is just amazing!!
I have a hard time picking a winner here.
Both are a testament to the mental attrition that has taken over society.

I am going to say TLC. At least at one point there was in fact music on MTV.

Well, at least History Channel still puts on some shows related to history. Demonstrates a little bit of pretense to keep their name legit. There is no such pretense on MTV or TLC and hasn't been for quite some time.

it's gotta be TLC. they have the most shite shows on TV by far.

I beg to disagree

TLC is a disgrace, even when compared to MTV.

To be fair, MTV stopped branding itself as Music Television a few years ago. It's just MTV.

BioTV is 24/7 ghost hunting shite

MTV still plays music at like 4am.
TLC just sucks.
TLC just sucks.

I thought TLC was going to start calling itself "The Living Channel" or something like that.
ETA:
A&E needs to call itself R&E for "Reruns and Entertainment" - No "Arts" in a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

History Channel should get an honorable mention

TLC.
Honey Boo Boo, Sister Wives, I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant, Toddlers&Tiaras, some obnoxious Arkansas cheerleading show.
Honey Boo Boo has set Georgia back worse than I'm sure Swamp People has done to Louisiana. At least SP can hang its hat on being a way of life and culturally affluent. Honey Boo Boo is just... well, you know.
MTV actually has some guilty pleasure shows. Buckwild, for example, is fricking awful but I can't look away.

In fairness, TLC hasn't called itself The Learning Channel in over a decade. It's just been TLC since about 1998. TLC doesn't technically stand for anything any more since they rebranded.

Why would you say history channel? I don't think it applies, cause like someone else said, it still has some history about it. TLC doesn't feature educational programming, at least that I know of.

There's very little history on the "History Channel."

Ancient Aliens is actually deeply rooted in historical fact and authoritative historical documents are cited quite a bit. Ancient Alien Theorists just have an unconventional interpretation of historical facts.

Here is a list of all of their shows (both currently active and inactive). Clearly, some are more historical than others. I would say the history channel is certainly catering to their audience just like the rest of the networks. It speaks volumes.
