Who Would You Have Cast as Anakin in the Star Wars Prequels?

If River Phoenix was still alive I would have wanted him. Out of the living, I wanted Ryan Phillippe. He was a finalist for the role too. 
Bale wouldn't have been bad but he doesn't really look like Luke or Leia.

You know hindsight and all. Dude played a great role in BE as a character with some duality. Not sure the Star Wars universe would have been ready for Darth Rosetti

a young Val Kilmer. Mysterious and you could see him being mislead to the dark side. That guy that played Magneto in X Men First Class, oh yeah. Perfect.

How about Heath Ledger? He would have been perfect for the role. Youthful, popular actor, and actually a great actor. He could have made the character come to life as a much less pathetic and more likable character.
