Gallon or so glass jug to take draft beer home en masse

Half gallon jug for filling with beer. New cheap ones you usually find at bars/stores have a twist cap. Traditional and better ones have a swig top.

Where I come from , we put those under the bed...called slop jars...piss in 'em. Why would I want to buy that damn much beer to let it go piss warm in our down South weather? This ain't Scotland, Ireland and the like. Is there a reason why I'd carry a slop jar to a bar?

There is a reason we invented the refrigerator.

The local beer store here has about 40 craft brews on tap. You take your growler(or buy one for 5 bucks) and they fill a clean one up with your beer of choice. It's great.

I never knew this. I've considered a growler a mean bowel movement for well over 20 years.

Achmed down at the Taliban Citgo ought to start peddling growlers of St. Ides to the brothahood. It'd be a cash cow.

He'll, I guess I was a trendsetter and didn't know it.back in the '80's , we used take milk jugs for a 25 mile drive to Forest, Ms to fill them with Coors draft. We didn't refrigerate the beer though.

I've bought a few, I've just never bought one from a bar. Mostly Calandros or some little joint in NO I don't remember. Nice to have different ones if you have a few beer people over for a ball game to try different ones.

Chimes sells a growler, and a pretty nice coozey to go with it (sold separately).
It fits around the entire growler, and has a little strap to carry it over your shoulder, like a Continental soldier.
