For non-donut style-Keller's Bakery (blueberry cream cheese is my favorite). Recently tried Twins King Cake and was impressed.

Yeh, I saw that right before I hit submit, but it was time to get off the crapper.

Anyone that says Meche's is clueless about king cakes.

Poupart's or Rouse's IMO. Rouse's is about about half the cost of Poupart's but nearly as good.

I still appreciate Meches. Let's be frank... I don't discriminate when it comes to King Cakes, but by far the best king cake in Lafayette is Kellers IMHO. The blueberry stands out, but there is 1-2 other fillings that will knock your socks off.

My parents swear the best king cake they ever had was from Rouse's. However, everytime I bought one from there they tasted dry and stale.
