I'm curious about the gun trust process as well. What all kinds of protections will it give me? Does it expedite the purchase process of Title II weapons at all?

don't know about protections, but there are many positive consequences to setting up a trust, especially one that is designed to purchase NFA weapons through.
When purchasing/ building and NFA weapon (silencer/ short barreled rifle) through a trust, there are no finger prints to be done on you and you do not need the permission of your Chief Law Enforcement Officer. This reduces 2 key steps that can hold you up and make more headaches with the whole process.
Having a trust allows you to E-file which is done online and has cut the wait times drastically (some people are claiming 30-60 day turn around) when compared to paper filing.
Having a trust allows you to be able to have multiple people included in it which could be a means of succession to pass down to kin with no additional paperwork, as the trust owns the firearm, not the individual. it also allows these mentioned "others" to be in possession of said NFA items at any time.
ETA: got ninja-ed

Local gun store selling this. What are y'all's thoughts on the price and the rifle in general. TIA

Good rifle, decent price. Great to start out with then upgrade if you want to. Don't get hung up on mil-spec, 99.9% of people who pee their pants over it don't know the specs much less understand what those specs mean in the context of these rifles.

I'd go for it. It looks like a good one.

Maybe you should just make a thread man, kind of detailing what all needs to be done and explaining the process? Might save you from answering a bunch of emails (bc I'm about to send you another one ) that way others that have your experienhce could chime in as well

I'd like to buy one and put the new Magpul SL furniture on it, just for a basic rifle and something lighter than my quad rail.
Has anyone purchased or handled the SL furniture yet?

Palmetto State Armory had the same/similar AR for $399 after mail-in rebate ($449 before). You might want to check their deals page and comparison shop.
ETA: Found the email...

Has anyone played around with a Liberty Leonidas?
I like the idea of having an integrally supressed .300 rifle. It's just so clean and quiet.
I know that building out an SBR with a suppressor is much more versatile and at over $1/round for subsonic .300 BLk makes it expensive to really get to use frequently. I don't know that the prices will ever come down that much.
Just getting into rifles and realizing versatility is the major advantage of the platform, so having the can pinned on a non-mainstream caliber is probably not the wisest choice, but I really like the cerakote one.
