2 point is traditional and will stay out of the way.

Single point is designed to be hung in the front or side

Started my honey badger clone. Still haven't bought the brace. Likely will be a Maxim CQB. Have grey AP atlas handguards to put on after I get the barrel on.

I bought mine from that guy on GunBroker. I think he had 3 sets. He shipped quick but did send it USPS which was a little sketchy.

i messaged the guy last night about the blemishes and how obvious they were. didn't really go into detail, but did say that bought as blemishes instead of new.

I need some handguard advice.

I have a Diamondback that I bought new back around 2020. It has a quad rail handguard that I absolutely hate. It’s uncomfortable as hell to shoot for any length of time.

I’m trying to figure out both what’s a good buy and what exactly I need.

I’m not worried about impressing everyone at the range so I’m not trying to break the bank on cosmetics and I’m not planning on applying for BUDS anytime soon so I don’t need to able to hang a hundred different things off the front of the gun.

That being said I don’t want it to be dog arse ugly and I would like some easy flexibility with attachments in the future.

I’ve been looking this stuff up on my on all night and I’m baffled by the choices so I figured I would come to the experts.

You’re going to need a torque wrench so you can remove the one that’s in it and properly install the new one.

As far as new rails, some brands to consider are:

Midwest Industries
Daniel Defense
BCM
Aero Precision

You could get some low profile rail covers. They’re pretty cheap on eBay if you don’t want to spend money on a new rail.

Also, what kind of quad rail is? Drop in with a front sight base? Free floating?

It’s free floating

ETA: holy shite the price of those you recommended. Most are in the 3-500 range I only paid 700 for the whole damn gun. I’ll just be uncomfortable at that price point.

Well, yeah.

You don't have to pay that much. Get a round profile with M-lok. You don't get the cheese grater effect and you can still hang whatever you want off of it.

That’s what I’ve been looking at. Is there any real difference in the $100 hand guards and the $500 ones.

Like I said this thing mainly rides around in the truck and shoots a few hogs. Only going to put a couple hundred rounds a year through it at the most between hogs and paper.

no, most of the price difference is you paying for a name more so than the rail itself.

those daniel defense rails are pretty chonky though. for what you're wanting, any of those brands i mentioned should be fine (Aero, PSA, Midwest Indust.)

i also forgot another website:

https://www.primaryarms.com/ar-15/handguards/free-float/brand/aero-precision,midwest-industries

those all appear to be under $200.

The biggest difference in say a Geisslle, Larue, Noveske etc is they are less likely to have rotation issues and become loose.
