#5 Scheduling and gate issues
I have heard the proposal that publics and privates could play in the regular season (and share their gate money to the publics) but then each would play for their own championships. What benefit does that scenario present for the private school? The only one I can think of is it would give a up close look at the athletes in the public school for the private school coaches to recruit. Other than that why would the private schools want to prop up the local public schools with gate money? As soon as the public school loses one kid HS age to a private school they recently played they wont ever play again. ADVANTAGE PRIVATES
If were at a private school with a Jr High on campus, or with set feeder schools, my Jr High team would be playing all the local public Jr Highs to make sure I was seeing all the available free agents for the next year.

To go along with your post, when we played Ouachita Middle School this year, Coach Carr told them not to give us a roster.

Wait private schools recruit?
Is this not how private schools get kids..?
Gah more crying by public schools who are loaded with talent and never reach there potential..
THIS IS TERRIBLE FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.. Cool you won a state championship who did you play again?
Yeah first post and this is what I used it on pff

i hate a possible split because too many schools that aren't problems will be caught in it. there's nothing wrong with class 5A, but take out the Catholic League, Catholic BR, and St. Paul's, and it won't be the same.

Private schools would have a field day if they separated. Public school leagues would be like rec leagues after that.

What if Jindal loses the voucher fight? How would that impact all of this? I really have no idea about this.

I think someone said it earlier if you are going to do anything level the playing field on practice time.
I mean hell I remember in high school we usually practiced 3 hours.....the final period of the actual school day and 2 hours after. If you can regualte that and want to implement something like that when school is in session then I'd be for it.
Splitting into public and private leagues helps no one really.

I think it would be great if there were a bit more protection built in for the school accepting the vouchers......I mean hell I need to be able to cut ties with dumbasses no matter what even if they have a voucher. Also, I need to be able to choose who I accept based on stringent regulations that I set even if they have a voucher.
I think it is a great program for under privileged kids who actually have the acumen to better their educational situation but are lacking on the financial side.

But like you said, will they really give them to kids with academic potential who are in shitty public school districts, or will they use them to recruit running backs with a 1.6 GPA?

While I'm not necessarily opposed to this idea to protect student-athletes, what would this do to help the publics compete with Curtis/Evangel? I don't think John Curtis is dominant because they practice longer than everyone else. They're dominant because they have much better players than everyone else.

and do you know why West Monroe has been so good? i once looked on their roster and a whole lot of boys were 19.
not even gonna rehash when their assisstant coach was HBOs Real Sports talking about the andro they were taking. "well nothing has proven its dangerous". ok dude.

Es possible......but what I'm saying is playes be damned its obvious you can't equal the playing field there....so level it everywhere where it is logistically and legally possible.
I don't know maybe nothing should be done....frick it play in the class where your enrollment puts you and say frick everybody if they don't like it. I think it is hard for people to realize that god damn Bunkie, LA will never be able to compete with John Curtis for football. It's not a bad thing it is just a fact.
Hell add another game and let Evangel or JC play the 5A state champs (if ECA or JC win state in their class) and then call the winner the best team in the state.
