He's not gonna leave for HC, but he will leave as DC when Fulmer is brought back as HC

No, but DD reported that since they were denied by Gundy and Strong that Chavis might've jumped to the top of the list.

If four year $20 million offered he is a gone pecan.
but if a regular no inflated offer, he stays put being our defensive guru.

I have every confidence that Coach Miles will navigate LSU to tremendous success, come what may.

He has done it before, and he will do it again.

Coach Miles will never fail us.

Why doesn't Chavis get shite for the Bama game? In fact, our defense was dog shite towards the end of the 1st half and in the 2 minute all year.

You mean like co-Defensive Coordinators?

Normally, I'd say zero chance. With UT striking out time after time, I think the odds go up as they become more desperate. He's one of the few feel-good stories linking back to the Fulmer years. Even when they had their downturn, the defense was always really good.

I still think the odds are slim though. I doubt UT will offer him obscene money, and that's about the only thing that might make him consider taking on that type of responsibility (which he doesn't really seem to want).

Exactly. The loss of Chavis could have a significant adverse effect on the team. Yes, I believe that Miles would eventually right the ship, but you could be looking at a down season if it happens (and I mean more than 2 losses).

Would hate to see it happen, but don't be surprised if it does...his roots are in Tenn. and $$$$ talks

Chavis is extremely uncomfortable in front of the cameras. He's making $1 million @ LSU to coach defense. He doesn't even have to recruit like the other coaches. He gets to pick and choose where he goes. Plus I think he genuinely likes Les. I'd put the chances under 1%.

Somewhere between 0% and 0%. If he goes anywhere it will be as a DC or a behind-the-scenes administrator type.

Many people don't realize that a coordinator position is far different than being a head coach and many coorindators don't want to be a head coach. Drastically different responsibilities. Seems to me like Chavis is a career coordinator - and there's nothing wrong with that.

There are over 1 million reasons why there is nothing wrong with that.

We all know about his ties and love for the program but from what I've read and heard from a few Vol supporters is that he didn't exactly leave on the best of terms with the Vol powers that be. Once they were ready to cut Fulmer, they cut ties with EVERYBODY and the parting wasnt so much of a "Thanks for all you've done for us" kinda thing. I've been told that Chavis wasn't real happy with the way it all went down with Fulmer and him, basically Tenn showed no love and told him not to let the door hit ya on the way out. Sure Chavis loves Tenn but I don't think it's the "dream" for him that most people think it is. Not to mention, does a guy who doesn't like the spotlight and is happy and set up where he's currently at, really want to walk into a rebuilding job and take center stage?
