Inspired by my gyro sandwich for lunch, what is your favorite Greek (Mediterranean) place in BR? List a place that has the best value / best quality.

Value: Atcha Bakery's lunch specials on Nicholson. Not the greatest of course, but for $5 it's hard to beat.

Quality: Arzi's on Government. I honestly haven't tried too many Greek places in BR, but I really like this one.

Baton Rouge has only ever had, to my knowledge, ONE Greek restaurant. It was Zorbas and it was located in the space now occupied by Louisiana Lagniappe. It was fantastic.

There's a lot of middle eastern/lebanese joints there, though. I don't know which one is best. I loved the old original Serops on Gov't as much as I loved the old Zorbas.

The only time I ever at Arzis it was disgustingly greasy and I was sick for the rest of the day. Albasha is my favorite place in BR by far

Cafe Phoenicia is good.

If you only want something like Chicken shawarma you need to find a place that deals in volumn. For that the mall's Arzi's is actually probably best for not having dry arse chicken.

Albasha is always my favorite. I also like the Serop's Expresses, but not the actual Serop's for some reason. Arzi's blows.

Never had Greek food in Baton Rouge. Have had plenty of bullshite "Mediterranean" places serving shawarma, hummus and other such nonsense.

That's because there are none.

There is some good Lebanese food to had. Albasha is the gold standard, IMO. And yes, Zorba's WAS freaking awesome.

Side note: Anyone ever eaten in Greek Town in Chicago?
