Who made up the Falcons/Saints rivalry? Shouldn't it be with the Bucs?

Since 2006,

7-6 against the Bucs..
11-2 against the Falcons

Bucs have won the division 6 times since 1976
Falcons have won the division 4 times since 1966
Saints have won the division 5 times since 1967

All 3 each have 1 NCF Championships

The one thing that separates Saints and the Bucs from the rest of the division is a Superbowl Ring.

Being that the Saints and the Bucs series is more competitive and since we both have a Superbowl Ring, I'm and hear to denounce the rivalry between the Saints and the Falcons and revive the rivalry between the Saints and the Bucs.

The only thing better than 11-2 against Atlanta is the fact the Saints have won a Super Bowl and Aaron Brooks still has more playoff wins than Matt Ryan. Both New Orleans and Atlanta are currently in the middle of the best years either of their franchises has ever seen and the SAINTS FLAT OUT OWN THE FALCONS. The Saints managed to defeat Atlanta with an interim coach and ruin the best start in Falcon history. You can’t ask for a better Sunday afternoon and feel free to point at any Atlanta fan wearing a Michael Vick jersey and laugh.

You're fricking retarded.

The Bucs weren't even in our division until 2002.

The Saints and Falcons have been rivals since before we were in the same division (we were in different divisions until 1970) because we came in the league at the same time and were the only two southern teams.

New Orleans and Atlanta, as cities, have been "rivals" for decades. If the oil bust didn't happen in the early 80s...

Seriously, ban yourself.

I mean, for frick's sake. We've played Atlanta 86 times in the regular season.

We've played Tampa 41 times, which is a paltry six more times than we've played the Panthers.

Not only are you a fricking moron, but you also have no concept of history.

The tears of the falcons taste much, much sweeter. This is the only acceptable answer.

We've been in the same division with Atlanta much longer than with the Bucs or Panthers

Are you kidding me with this shite? Did you just start watching the Saints? The Saints and Falcons have hated each other since the beginning. Terrible thread.

Two cities that have a huge african american fanbase. Two clubs that constantly seem to have former fan favorites from the other team.

You are obviously a new Saint’s fan……..
The Falcons & Saints are an old rivalry with a lot of crazy history. The two cities are as much a rivalry as the teams. We don’t like each other and it is a long history of deep hatred…..
