My wife is awesome. She is a fiery Cajun with a outspoken passion for LSU football. Does she love it quite as much as me? No, but very few human beings do. However, she is extremely indulgent of my obsession. We live a thousand miles from campus, but I purchase season tickets every year. We fly to the major home games. She nevers bats an eye at the outlandish expenditures of money and time. The opening game invariably conflicts with her September 1 birthday, but she stoically endures half-baked celebrations in Baton Rouge restaurants, Dallas hotels, and bleaker locales like Blacksburg, Virginia. Our holiday plans almost always revolve around bowl games. No complaints. In fact, at Christmas in 2003, she surprised me with national championship tickets. I take road trips with my college buddies to away games in Athens and Tuscaloosa and Oxford, returning hung over with cryptic bruises and ailments once thought to be extinguished by modern medicine. She ministers to me. Sometimes, she still makes party cups and buttons for home games. When I watch games on TV, I have been known to mute the sound...or hurl myself on the floor...or destroy household sundries like remotes and pillows and coffee tables and doors. She only yells at me for a few minutes. When we lose, I fall into prolonged fits of listless stupor, cursing the unfairness of the fickle pigskin gods.. She cheers me up. After the 2011 NCG, she led me from the Superdome to the hotel by the hand like a blinkered horse so that I wouldn't drift into a melee with the marauding Bama fans. After Kentucky 2007, she barricaded us in the hotel room and plied me with alcohol, pizza, and, um, adult entertainment. My office is awash with the LSU memorabilia she has purchased for me. I feel like new LSU clothes magically appear in my closet every few months.
Really, I can't say enough about how great she is. I have no earthly idea how she endures my fanatacism.
And she does all of this on top of accompanying me to NFL games, NBA games, MLB games, and a thousand other lesser events.

My wife has not been to a game since she asked me why Tommy Hodson wasn't playing. I said the "Defense is on the field right now". She said "But I thought he was the Quarterback".
Ain't wasting a ticket on that shite.

Lost an S/O in 2005 because I went to Atlanta to watch LSU play and she had something else planned. Couldn't figure out why I chose a football game over her.

It kinda tough to watch a game with mine. She trends negatiger unfortunately, and she get really really mad at bad plays. I end up having to try and get her to ease up, which is kinda tough because I'm pissed when a play is screwed up too, but I have to because she is just lunatic angry over it.
The good side is that when things are going well there is happiness, and kisses.

When we met the first two questions my wife asked me were:
1) Do you believe in God?
2) Are you an LSU fan?
Both were potential deal breakers....
We will be at the Bama game yelling our heads off.

My wife and I moved back to Baton Rouge in 2001 shortly before our tenth anniversary. She said she wanted an anniversary present that kept on giving...season tickets! We've been to every home game since 2001, take vacations for many road games and attended our two past national championships. And yes, we stayed to the very end of the debacle in January 9. Defense is her favortie and she knows what Will, Sam and Mike are. She's definitely a keeper!

My wifes birthday is Sept 3rd and she got tickets to the LSU Oregon opener in Dallas last year. She really had no choice! But of course I had to give her something besides LSU tickets ! Was a great trip though

Your life sounds like a mirror image of mine! And my wifes birthday is Sept 3rd so have the same issues. But it works great!

My SO would not be friends with a chick who set her wedding date during an LSU/Bama game.

I'm not sure which I would like less: A wife who hates LSU football, or a wife who loves LSU football as much as me.
I've got friends to talk to about LSU football, I don't want to talk about it with her...
Luckily she likes it when LSU wins and enjoys when we can make games, but isn't any kind of die hard

I'm the LSU person in our house, my husband went to FSU. I know the players, positions, etc. I can even tell you the name of the ref for our games. If someone has a question about anything LSU sports, I'm the one they call. I'm a bigger fan of sports than my hubby is.....and of course, our two kids are huge LSU fans. He says that he is a nole by birth but a Tiger by marriage. I also learned from the best....my mother!!

this and

She's so into LSU sports (basketball and baseball too) that she often knows past players names, positions, and game outcomes that some of my guy friends don't!
this.
also she has relatives that occasionally hook us up with club tickets in TS. I'm quite pleased with my selection!

My wife and I dated through college and are both die hard fans. We have 4 kids now and don't make too many games together at this point (we live in Atlanta).
We've split some weekends to let the other go with friends. She's let me take our kids to away games while she stays home with the rest.
I highly recommend marrying a die hard LSU fan.
