You talking about insuring a clubhouse or the boats? Hunting insurance is based off of acreage leased, if you aren't leasing anything you aren't liable for anything. If you hold an event and someone gets hurt thats a different story and you'd need a hold harmless agreement. My Lessor a few years back was requiring boat insurance also in case something happened while traveling to and from blind, that was much more expensive on par with charter insurance.

He said liability insurance. I guess if you are holding a tournament, you could have a liability waiver. They built their own clubhouse on someone's property. Building was huge!

Yeah, I was asking of whether there was no hog or whether there was a hog and he missed or the bullet passed through the hog into the other hunter. But you answered my question.

I remember once I knew I was looking at a deer through my scope early one morning. I KNEW it was a deer because I could see it's horns. Sat there looking at it and it never moved . . . turned out it was a cypress weed.

If I had a dollar for every time this happened I'd be rich.
Remember that thread about the guy who shot the thing he thought was a deer late in the evening?
That may have been on LASM, but it was pretty damn scary.

No, it was on here. I remember that one.
ETA: I've been lurking since day one.

He pulled the trigger didn't he?

Twice I think. At least once

I shot a squirrel one morning at 6:55 at the top of a pecan tree. When it hit the ground, it turned into a coon.

It's not hard to do at all.
Your eyes definitely can make things into what you want them to be. I see a huge arse buck every time I go in the woods.

What was a coon doing up in the top of a pecan tree? He was asking for it if you ask me.

Eating pecans I suppose, and yes, he asked for it.

the last time we went squirrel hunting near Smith Bay in GLWMA, Miller shot two coons thinking they were squirrels. I dogged him for it, but they were pretty small.

I know a guy who shot a far off box stand thinking it was a much closer deer. In his defense, the angle was perfect and it looked like it was standing on the closer hill, but the hill hid the legs of the tower.
He shot, nothing happened. I said, "You're not shooting at that box stand are you?"
He said, "I guess that is what that is..."
I replied, "Dude what if someone is in there?"
He said, "Aint nobody else supposed to be out here."
Holy shite. There are some crazy frickers out there...

You trespassing sombitches get out my thread.
Hat, I was thinking about starting a Lake Boueff hunting and fishing club. Would like to get involved with making the lake better like it used to be. My dad said they used to get together and spray the water lillies and other unwanted grass. Right now the "pepper grass" is growing like crazy. Once it dies in the winter it turns to rope. I have never seen so much in the lake before. The fishing isn't what it used to be.
My son is 3 now and I would like to be able to take him there and learn to fish and hunt. Our camp only gets used once or twice a year. Theriot's canal is getting worse and worse every year. I just would like to get people together to help out the only public lake in our area.
Anyone else got any ideas?
