He's been getting abused for 2 years now.

he's not a starter. He's been a real spark off the bench and fill-in for years now; again, he's just not a starter.

He does ok on run downs, but he was best used in that formation where they'd have him in as a extra tackle, lined up like a tight end.
He is a liability in passing situations
i hope sean payton is taking this year to look at things with an outsider's perspective.

I thought Bushrod was decent today, Zach Strief looks like he's not quite sure what sport he's playing.

wanna know how i know you don't know shite about the game of football?

while that could be true, they both have been extremely bad. Strief had as bad a game today as a Tackle could have, and he wan't even going against a dominant pass rusher.
Bushrod who struggled a bit today, and was worse than strief the first 2 games actually goes up against the more talented of the 2 DE's. It would be great to get a legit LT and then possibly move Bushrod to RT.

I agree with this

Yeah his play yesterday seemed even to be a little worse than normal...

Don't we have a guy we drafted in the 2nd round recently that plays tackle?

Just time out.
Strief played fairly well last year on an offensive line that only really had one bad game.
The O-Line as a whole has played horribly this year. To me, there is no greater indication that Aaron Kromer is in over his head than the play of that unit. He is obviously not getting his people ready to play each week. Strief had just about as bad a second half as a player could possibly have.
I really don't see this team improving until Vitt gets back. Kromer's not going to call out any coaches when he will be back amongst them in 4 weeks. Vitt is going to bring a little fire back to the team and will be able to hold people accountable.
I'm not saying Super Bowl, but I see the team becoming a little more organized and recognizable once Joe Vitt gets back in the building.

Right tackle Zach Strief had an extremely rough day against Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston. Houston had three sacks, including a safety in the fourth quarter while the Saints' offense was imploding. Afterward, Strief admirably fell on the sword.
"I've never felt more individually responsible for the destruction of an offense before," Strief said. "I mean, I've just never been in a situation ... I mean, hats off to him (Houston). That's a game that you fear as a lineman. I had no answers. And I think I really gave us no chance to get anything going."
When asked if he was just talking about the sacks or other plays as well, Strief said, "I don't feel like I did a good job at any point in that game. ... I think I was physically and mentally beaten. And that's disappointing, because you just can't be in that situation. As a professional athlete, you can't be in the situation that I was in today."
When asked if he can attribute any of the team's struggles to the absence of Coach Sean Payton, Strief said, "I have a very hard time attributing what happened today to not having a head coach, because he can't block anybody. At the end of the day, I don't know what Coach Payton being here would have done to make me block somebody."

at least no BS and he manned up
Bushrod is a UFA so tackle as a need might be glaring if they don't plan to re-sign him. It will depend on Brown's progress as to how they address it. He looked significantly better in preseason. Hope he moves into some first team reps if he is indeed the replacement plan.

Wow.
Very unusual to hear that much self critisism.
Thats is almost telling someone to please 'bench me'. Anyone else hear that?
