Why is Joe Buck considered the most high profile PBP today?

The only reason I can think of is because his dad was Jack.

His voice is very monotonic and just comes off bad, yet Fox keeps extending his contract and giving him all of their premier events.

I think he's one of the worst. Has no emotion what so ever.

do you mean why IS he the most high profile?

you can be considered good or bad, but you're either the most high profile or you're not

My favorite was when Eli Manning connected with David Tyree in the SB on one of the best plays ever, and he announced it like it was a late season Cards vs. Seahawks meaningless game.

Pedantic and unwilling to answer the question, a dangerous combination.

He's the absolute worst I can't count how many times I have taken a nap while he does a game, but because old white people like listening to him he'll keep getting big events

Isn't a play by play guy, so that's comparing apples to oranges.

Colinsworth isn't bad at all. The only thing I don't like about him is how 'bro' he is...if that makes any sense

He's got to have dirty pics of someone. He's terrible and rides the coattails of his daddy's name still

After listening for years to John Madden, he is a welcome change.

I really have no problem with Buck. There are plenty of worse announcers.

Much prefer Fox over CBS.

I like Joe Buck but I think Al Michaels is the best in the business.

I like him for baseball broadcasts but he is way too monotone for football play-by-play
