I woke up to find power is still on, wind blowing, don't know if there is any rain, eastern part of BR.

A lot of lightening now too

That might be transformers blowing, etc. They just discussed this on WGNO, said the storm is not really generating lightening (which surprised me). Although it's possible, they said it is most likely some sort of electrical problem.

Shocked I am. (since we are all channeling Yoda)

Numerous blips, but not out long enough to rest the clocks even. One TV fried (gave up its spot on the surge protector to my laptop)

I'm also freezing as I'd run my AC down figuring my power wouldn't make it through the night. Maybe the tree thinning Gustav did along Highland Road is paying dividends

I have power in Madisonville(unincorporated) north of I-12. Flickered a few times about 5 minutes ago.

Did they upgrade the grids or something? Typically everyone is out by now.

Typically an afternoon thunderstorm takes me out. Maybe all my bitching about out routine outages got them to fix some things. It's blipping off and on, but hanging. Rushing a pan of biscuits in.
