Neither of these are Chinese food. Eta: Actually, Kaminari does offer some Chinese, but not a predominately Chinese restaurant.

If you are asking for Midcity, China1 in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. I'm sure there are better places in the city, though.

Guess I never noticed. If I'm going Chinese, its all about the Dragon after a night of drinking.

I always got takeout from the one at the corner of Acadian/Florida. Can't remember the name. New China or some shite.

I used to love going to the Red Flower on Highland but I think they closed down.

Where is this KOI located?

The chink grocery on Florida just past Acadian on right towards the river has the best fried turkey wings in town.

Oriental Pearl Sherwood @ Coursey >>>>>>>>> Govt St

The chef and his wife on Sherwood/Coursey let their family use the same name for the Govt St location, it sullies the great reputation they've built over a decade on Sherwood. The difference between the two is night and day.

BR Chinese is a joke. Haven't had a truly great Chinese joint since Chinese Inn was owned by MK Wong circa 1977 to say around 1995(Alamo Plaza converted diner and later Airline location)..sold down line to cousins now..it blows!

Koi, Hunan, PF Changs, and Dim Sum do some things well. A Taste of Asia's Thai or Viet chef(I forget?) did a nice yet very small 1/3rd Chinese menu for their small run on Sherwood, but they folded. King's Wok and Hong Kong have some serviceable takee-outtee.

None compare to Nawlins Cafe East, Five Happiness, Hoshun, Empress,etc..

And you China One fans, including Opie,etc..are delusional..that place is garbage. Been multiple of times.

The main chefs at King's Wok on Jefferson and Hong Kong Millerville do much better for takeout joints..yet are no world-shakers.

This - but to go only for me.

And this. Outside Mid City, but worth the extra few miles. They have Dim Sum and a regular Chinese menu.
