The absolute best place to learn anything and everything about kayak fishing in south Louisiana is by attending one of the two major tournaments put on by BCKFC. There a couple of hundred individual yakkers in attendance at each event (one in the spring in Leeville and one in the fall in Empire) and all are more than willing to help out new paddlers or anyone else with a general interest in the sport.

Just came out the closet and bought my 1st yak. Been reading up and learning but was wondering what you guys do with your catch until you make it in? My first thought was to use a stringer but I'm not sure if there is a better method.

Got a surprise for Team Ascend. We'll see how it turns out.

I have been looking at getting a good kayak and have looked at most of the major brands. As of now, I think I'm going to get a Jackson Cuda 12 when they are available. I'd love to get a Hobie PA12 with the Mirage Drive but it ways over 100 lbs rigged out and would cost close to $3000 to buy and fully outfit it.
I'd like to hear from anyone who has experience with either the current Cuda or a PA.

I didn't want to start a new thread since it's a fairly simple question, and also my first post after quite a bit of lurking which could be dangerous, but ...
I have a Hobie that I want to add a few bungee hooks and other minor add ons to since it is lacking them in the right places. Has anyone done something like this without drilling into the kayak and just using some kind of epoxy? I feel like this would be easier but don't know if one way is better than the other. I know the backpacker and other stores have add on kits with all the gear but I just wanted to get some advice before I drill into the
TIA for any help

Van how bout adding KC Kayaks to the list? Local company, I'm sure someone here can do a review or just link the website, but that's what I fish so I can if necessary.
