A little off topic, but would each of you send $25 to me? It's for a truly great cause.

Only if you promise me 1 game with you next season

I wish we can get a forward that can shoot the 3. I dont really mind Terrence Ross, even though it might be a reach. Whatever pans out, I trust in Monty! But if they do draft a forward, hopefully we pick up a guard in FA like goran dragic!

I don't dislike Sullinger, he is just very, very redundant on our team in terms of talent distribution. Why draft someone to steal minutes from Davis?

no such thing as redundancy on a team with very little talent.

We need to add the best available players. We have room.

In a perfect world, you can play Davis and Sullinger on the court at the same time. You bring Ayon and Smith off the bench.

Smith can play PF or C. Same with Davis. Oakfor as well, depending on long he stays around.

People take positions too literal. There are hardly any bonafide centers to deal with in the NBA. Therefore making the post interchangeable.

4 or 5 big men is not too much, not when 3 of them can play 2 positions. It's easy to mix and match and give everyone some minutes.

Dont want Sullinger, an OSU fan (on here) said we should stay away from him @ 10. When fans/students like that, that know more about the guy than the general public say to stay away

Why dont they like him?

Plus, even with Okafor, all it takes is one injury in the frontcourt for that 5th guy (would have to be Ayon) to start seeing a decent amount of time. Even with pretty good health, you figure that's going to be a solid 20 games next season. Come 2013/14, the chances of Okafor being on the team past the trade deadline drop a good bit.

Ayon will probably have a better career than Sullinger. I know he's not a star, but neither is Sullinger.

And the "positions are dead" crap is overplayed. Can Sullinger guard Dwight and Bynum?

I think I remember an OSU fan calling him soft and lazy.

That's been the word swirling around Sullinger's work ethic.

I think this Sulinger at 10 talk is all a smoke screen personally. Since the lottery has taken place, Ford has said that he has been hearing that the Hornets want to pair the 2 frontcourt players together.

Maybe, but Ayon is also at his peak right now, having played pro ball for several years. I'm pretty confident Sullinger will rebound better. His only ? Is how well his post game translates.

That's a straw man.

No one in the NBA can guard either one of those guys effectively. There are 27 other centers in the league not as good.

He's dropped 20 lbs and averaged 10 boards in the Big 10- where tackling is legal. You can say he's short, unathletic, won't be able to score on the block, etc, but soft and lazy is ridiculous.

I remember sitting in Tiger Stadium in 05, as fans were cursing out Laron Landry "He's awful. Why does he play? Saban never would have started him." No disrespect to that guys friend, but I'll trust the opinion of DX over a fan who is disappointed in his All American big man.

What I don't get about Sullinger is why is he so low on the draft boards if he's as skilled offensively as he's made out to be. Either the mocks are off or post scoring has been devalued. He only had about 11% body fat at the combine and he's steadily lost weight for 2 years so I wouldn't think that's an issue, and if he had the mismatched leg lengths that were rumored, you would think that would have leaked out after the measurements.

That's ridiculous, is this the same Ayon who was struggling to get minutes at the end of last season. Sullinger is better than Ayon now and will always be better. Sullinger will be pretty solid on the next level.

why is he so low

My guess his limited upside and need/fit. He's clearly in the third group of lottery picks. After Portland, no team has space for his skill set until the Hornets. He is a polished college player without tantalizing athleticism. The eternal draft question: swing for the fences or just try to reach base?

Rivers is so overrated because of his daddy. He should have stayed another year to polish his game.
