so wait, just got here....is gallo gonna turn down 1st round $$ and come here???
It's possible. The pros want him to pitch, he hates pitching and wants to play the field every day. He also expected to be a top 15 pick. He dropped to mid-40s, I believe. The Ranger also have 5 first round guys to split their money on.

Don't see a lot of our guys getting drafted. That can either be a sign of good things about this signing class or bad.
I would say it is a good thing about this signing class. I know of one incoming player that was contacted by several clubs to gauge if he would go pro based upon where they projected him. Some projected him going on the first day. He told them thanks, but no thanks, he will be going to LSU. His name has yet to be called. I would imagine the same scenario has played out with others in the incoming class.

Where he was drafted he's looking at a max of $1 million or less. If he made it top 15 he is looking at $2.5 - $7 million...
Let's not forget that is BEFORE taxes. So, I would assume if he were to get $1 million, it will mor ethan liekey be closer to $750,000 after taxes give or take depending on state taxes and agent fees.

So...who of our drafted picks we expected to lose for sure? The two first-round guys? Don't see a lot of our guys getting drafted. That can either be a sign of good things about this signing class or bad.
Jenning and Diaz are long gone. Gallo still has a decent chance of coming here.
You also have to remember that with the new draft rules, signability is huge to teams. If they don't think you'll sign, they won't bother with you no matter how good you are.

This is about the time when posters start getting excited about a Prispect that wont make it here....this year its Gallo

Gallo will sign with the Rangers and everything I've seen says that they drafted him as a position player.

Haha, so true. And people try to justify "well they don't have the money". Just like they fricked us with Lee when they didn't have money, right? This is the MLB people, lower your expectations. It would be a miracle to see Gallo or Diaz make it to campus.
And it can definitely happen, as you seen with Florida. But I'm not going to lose sleep over it...
Bregman didn't quite go as expected, so that's a positive.

Hey Adam, do you think Will LaMarche will sign with Minnesota?

This...people are trying to talk themselves into there being a 50/50 chance or better. It's more like 90/10 him going pro vs. coming to LSU. The Rangers would have to royally screw this up for him not to sign...he's going to get a million plus and no way he turns that down unless they just rub him the extreme wrong way. I don't blame Gallo one bit if he signs, yes he could come to college and MAYBe improve his draft position, but he also has a lot more room to fall than go up. One person mentioned Whitson turning down top 10 overall pick money to go to UF and look what happened to him. Might get 1/10 or less of what he was originally offered.
Best approach to take with Gallo is assuming he absolutely will sign and if he somehow in a miracle doesn't, then YAY!

Good to see Rhymes improved his draft position from the 40th round to the 30th round, although I still thought he'd go a bit higher than that.
Also Hanover, who has to leave went from a 40th round pick to a 33rd round pick. Some improvement there.
Nola was the HUGE winner though, from 48th round out of high school to 31st round after his junior year to 5th round after senior year
