Uninspiring menu, but their lunch specials look decent

It' pretty good. Kinda upscale bar food. They make a fine burger, pretty good pizza and pasta dishes. Good lunch spot, and drinking/dinner spot. The owners are live music fans, so I'm sure they'll have some local BR talent playing.

Same menu as every other "bar and grill" type restaurant in BR
Went yesterday, cool setup on inside, decent food, but its not groundbreaking by any means. I could go to the Chimes East down the road and get better beer

Yea not sure what their draft beer selection is in BR, but if it's the same as Monroe they need to step it up. The selection is fine by me, but I know the highbrow beer connysewers down there will be rankled by it...

That's about same as Monroe. Minus maybe a Shocktop.

Its not a bad place, the problem is it is the exact same as everywhere else in town. Nothing to attract me specifically to go there. I am sure I will eat there again when I am passing by, but I can eat a burger or cream-based pasta dish anywhere in town. Just the typical BR, lack of imagination restaurant.
That being said, they have good friendly service and a good patio.

I will give it a shot. They could secure my business every week if they can get their hands on the following recipes:
Calendar's Chicken Fingers
Calendar's Pasta Jambalaya
Calendar's Ranch Dressing / Honey Mustard
RIP Calendars.

Mecca has a damn good martini...maybe BR will have one, too.

I loved that stuff...Will, did you know John R who ran that Calendar's for many years until it closed?

No, didn't know him. But I do remember Kelly the bartender. She was a staple at Calendar's on Coursey.

True, but the way those fry cooks breaded and handled those chicken fingers - simply were the best in town.

I tried the grilled mahi sandwich with a side of what they call sautéed asparagus and was pleasantly surprised...the fish was cooked perfectly, seasoned well and on a tasty Kaiser roll.
I also like the layout of the place because it can be anything you want it to be since you can choose between sitting at the bar, lounging on the porch, or a table indoors. TVs are abundant, but unobtrusive. The garage style doors that open onto the porch remind me of something you would see on a busy street in a major city.
When I asked about the hours, I remember them saying that they close earlier than the similar places around them (Chimes, etc).

The Monroe location does very well. I expect the BR operation will be successful as long as the location is good.

i like the place .. especially the bar area set up .. it has great potential .. so far, all of the food i have had there has been good .. just waiting to see if the kitchen just has all eight pistons firing for the first few months and things taper off later like most new places ..
