The reasons why LSU is #1 and will finish #1 have been discussed adnauseum. For a change of pace, what do you all think the reasons are that LSU won't make the BCS NCG or perhaps even the SEC CG?

Relax, by participating this won't mean you are a Nega-Tiger or even a true fan. It's meant for a change of pace or to elicit some realistic responses.

-First year starting QB with a lot of high expectations and pressures.
-Unproven group at WR.

These are the only two things that i ccan think of that would keep us from making the MNC. But I think this team is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and that LSU will be in the MNC.

All four of our away games are tough venues. To come out unscathed will be very hard.

We still have to play Bama

SEC championship

Z Mett may not be as great as we hope

Linebackers? Who are they?

I love him, but our coach is good at having a brain fart or two during the season.

All that said, I think we finish 11-1 with a good shot at MNC.

some aliens will come to earth trying to take the Looney Toons captive, but Bugs Bunny will trick them by allowing their capture if and only if the aliens beat the Looney Toons in a game of bas....football. Thing is, the tallest alien of the bunch is a solid 2'7", so therein lies a problem for the aliens.

Only thing is, these aliens summon and steal the talents of the LSU football team of 2012, making the aliens the greatest football team in the universe.

Bc as soon as Mett goes down in an SEC game, we're going to be praying for a Lee or JJ style QB. Our backups are waay behind Mett in skill right now. He goes down, the team goes down!

Well, injury is always a risk. If Mettenberger goes down in week 4, then obviously the team will struggle very much on offense during his absence.

This is the SEC, after all. There are other good teams, too, so there's always a chance that LSU will lose a big game to, say, Alabama or Arkansas.

I don't know if LSU will make it to the NCG 100%, but they have a team that is capable of taking them there.

1. Bama
2. Road Loss(es)
3. Miles
4. Jordan Jefferson (they'll find a way to pin it on him)
5. Jordan Mettenberger
6. Jordan Meffersonberger.
7. All five RB's hurt at the same time.
8. Beckham quits to play soccer with his Dad.
9. T-Bob Hebert
10. Honey Badger transfers to Wisconsin in search of his roots.

Only 2 teams in all of college football get to play for the MNC. Voters can be unpredictable and LSU was there last year which may hurt if we do lose during the regular season - even if we win our conference and the SEC championship AGAIN!

One thing is for sure: THIS IS THE BEST ERA OF LSU FOOTBALL EVER! Amazing that we are very, very seriously chatting about going to BCS championship game 2 years in a row! AWESOME! Ready for Sept.

-Offense improves, but not enough to offset the loss of Claiborne and Brockers on defense (and perhaps the inexperienced LB corps needs another year).

-Injuries to the OL

-Mississippi State is much improved and eeks out a close win

-Arkansas is sound enough to overcome the Petrino Crash

-Bama finds a replacement for TR (or at least his production) and rolls again

I don't like CB. I don't like a negative post about LSU. Come up with as better post.

If the D doesn't gell.

I don't have any worries about the O, and Mett doesn't really have a lot to do with it.
LSU will grind and pound teams into submission, making them pray they were facing the 2011 Tigers.

I'll preface this with LSU is very deserving of #1, but if there are weak spots:

On D:

- Replacing the DB coach and two top rated CBs in 2 years is tough, but if it can be done leave it to the chief and LSU's talent.

- LBs are gonna be young and make mistakes with run fits and coverage early in the season, so it may cost a few big plays or important stops. But if the front 7 stays healthy it could be VERY good... great by the end of the season.

On O:

- Mett is a first year starter with high expectations due to his talent. However, if he plays average for a passing QB he is FAR surpassing our previous starter/s and will be considered a success. The only potential problems will lie with his ability to limit turnovers and avoid pressure from SEC pressure. If he handles pressure and plays efficiently, LSU offense will be glorious.

- WRs are talented, but do they have the ability of a Reuben Randle to seperate downfield? I don't remember any deep passes in stride to anyone other than Reuben (but I think this was a QB problem). Hopefully someone will emerge as a deep threat, but it could be an issue if the TIgers need to open up the field. I will say I fully expect the WRs to look GREAT this year as a result of ZM.

With these minor, possible issues, I don't see LSU losing games because of talent or scheme... only if an opponent plays great and catches the Tigers on an off day will they lose.

It will come down to the qb. We need Mettenberger to at least be about 50% of what the rantards think he'll be. I think he'll be ok there.

We also need him to stay healthy since we have an inexperienced project as a backup. This one is tougher to predict.

Turn overs at key times in key games.

Kinda like with Fla in 06.

Also, lots of pressure/expectations put on the back of a QB who hasn't faced an SEC D as "the man" and who hasn't started a game vs. a FBS team in his life.

We have no reason to think we won't be there. We're better at every position. Yes, including cornerback (overall).

Zach, while on a synthetic marijuana high, kicks some guy in the head then gropes his girlfriend at a bar. Rivers hands ball off 50 times a game resulting in a 11-2 record.
