If you prefer gin the Nolet family that makes Ketel One has a gin out now. Really a refreshing change of pace with a milder juniper essence and a good bit of rose petals on the nose.

If I bring my own rose petals, can I add to tanqueray w/o charge?

I know places like Chili’s, Applebee’s, Olive Garden wouldn’t do this. I know some reception places charge this and I am fine with that

I first read this thinking you bought a cake there and then they were going to charge you the fee. But now that I see you brought your own of course they are going to charge you a fee. I mean is this seriously a question??

Pansies can be eaten for dinner too, but we've already found that out in this thread.

I am so glad y'all did not delete it. This was a hilarious read and I agree with Rummy about the manager being very dignified when others have not. It makes me want to go to Mansur's because I have never been. Fine dining in Baton Rouge is not so impressive in my opinion so I usually go to Nola for fine dining and stay casual here but I will give it a try.

For whatever reason, mansur's have deliberately tried to steer away from fine dining since the move from the college location. I never understood that part...

Resting upon thier laurels which came with much effort, they opt for the "name recognition" of what it once was.

The process was to make the restaurant a bit more universally available. Still have the piano, but tone down the overly white tablecloth. The primary thing was still being able to do really good food and nice cuisine without making it too stuffy of a place. The old place had its atmosphere and I dined there but never worked there. This location was one of my favorite lunch spots when I worked elsewhere in the area. And we can do a great tasting menu for a group if requestsed ahead of time. Ive seen some fantastic meals put out of there for some smaller private dinners.

If you like chargrilled oysters, Madam, do try theirs. They're are very good. They do fish dishes very well. I never order steak there, but that's because I like the fish dishes so much.

What I like about Mansur's is that you can go all fine dining/piano player/special occasion there or you can get a table in the bar (you can reserve in there, as well)for a casual night out with very good food or just a few rounds of oysters and cocktails in addition to the full menu. Watch a game while you eat and visit.

There's always a fresh visiting fish. I had a halibut dish there about a year ago that I'm still thinking about.

I was greatly entertained by this thread as you can see. However, kudos to gfulxyzaabc who eventually came around, so he doesn't need to be beat up on anymore. He gets it, now.

This could be the Rummy type thread like the one on the Help Board and the Rant.
