RIP Dandy Don
I emailed him a few times and talked to him at the recruiting bashes. Always super nice and loved the tigers. You will be missed DD.

Several years ago, I worked with a lady whose son was a great running back at one of the San Antonio high schools. The student athlete had a few offers but really wanted to go to LSU. Mom was real disappointed that they had not heard from LSU. I e-mailed Dandy Don about the kid. He kindly responded that same day. Two days later Mom comes to me and tells one of the LSU coaches visited her son at school. I e-mailed Dandy Don that afternoon to tell him. He responded that he had made a few calls on the kid's behalf, which prompted Coach Peveto to make a visit.

Indeed RIP! This gentleman had a good, full life. He was unselfish and giving. He made the lives of many others more enjoyable. There are just some folks who will always be a part of your life. He is a legend who will never be God bless you, Don.

RIP, you started my afternoon for years as I live overseas. Sometimes I would check 3:30pm my time when it was 5:30am in Lafayette, then again at 6, then 6;30 and there it was!!! I will miss him dearly. Tailgaiting in heaven!!! You and your wife reunited again.

Oh how I will miss this HUGE TIGER FAN ! There was only one Dandy Don. The passion. The enjoyment. He so missed his wife and that made him a very special man in my eyes.
I'll be thinking of Dandy Don when I hear those first notes from the band come this fall.

One of the more enjoyable parts of my mornings has been starting the day with reading Dandy Don. R.I.P., and may perpetual light shine upon you.
