The DON got me hooked as a hardcore tiger fan. There was a time when the first thing I'd do every morning was check his site. Staying up to date on LSU news and recruiting became a hobby of mine in large part through DD's website and passion for the tigers. RIP, never got to meet him but he seemed like a great guy who lived a hell of a full life. Props to his son too for continuing his legacy.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Don Meredith, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback who served as a folksy foil for Howard Cosell on ABC's "Monday Night Football" and helped carve out the niche for colorful ex-athlete broadcasters, has died. "Dandy Don," as he was known, was 72.

Been reading for years and even got my 79 year old mother to read Dandy Don website...that's one of the only websites she knows how to log on and read to keep up with LSU! Thank you for all the wonderful years...prayers sent

It is always a sad time to say goodbye..but rejoice that Don has eternal life and has the best seat in the house overlooking Tiger Stadium. Bless his family !

Those we care about live on after their death through the lives they touched, their good deeds and their loving kindness. The Dandy One has touched so many lives that his memory will be alive for a very long time.
My father died 46 years ago when I was 14, and there is not a day that I don't think of him and his beloved Tigers. He is with me always, as Don will be with family, friends and fans.
I start everyday with Dandy Don and intend to keep right on doing so until it is I they put to rest.
Godspeed friend, and prayers to your family.

A gentleman and a model of steady, measured consistency, day after day after day. A lot of respect for him in many areas -- and sad to hear of his passing.
