I never met Don, but I felt like I knew him. He always replied to my emails I sent him, no matter how long it took to respond. He was like a favorite uncle; he will be missed............

Very sad to hear.. I loved reading his columns every morning before work. He was a truly great, loyal Tiger fan. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to his family.

Living in California i have been reading dandy don for awhile.
It is one of my daily things that keeps me in touch with my tigers and home.
I didnt email him often but when i did he would always reply.
It is hard living so far from my home state and his site i always felt like he brought a little bit of family and god and tigers to me every day.
May God Bless Dandy Don and the joy and sense of home he brought to so many people.
Thank you and God Bless the Long family.

First site I read when I started to really follow recruiting and the tigers. Great man who will be missed. The mornings won't be the same. RIP Dandy Don.

Just want to add my name to the list to say that I will miss Dandy...the Tiger nation lost one of, if not it's biggest fan today. I remember a friend introducing me to his site when I was a freshman, back in 1996...good stuff.

I am so sorry to hear this. Dandy Don was one of the best LSU fans ever. He was always "all real".
