This confirms what many of us have been saying all along. Baseball is now primarily a white trash sport. Sure, there are exceptions to the rule, but by and large this is true. Only the same crowd who could enjoy watching cars go round and round a track for hours could enjoy this awful, boring sport.

Baseball is clearly no longer the biggest sport in America but it is firmly grasped onto the number 2 spot. Baseball isn't going anywhere.

Is baseball boring? To the average fan, yes. Is it too long of a time to sit in a park and spit sunflower seeds into a cup? Probably so. Is the season too long? Probably so.
You can think what you want, but if I'm being honest, calling it a white trash sport is really one of the things I'd never think to call it.

Actually, football is a white trash sport. It's a far more popular sport than baseball among poor white people in the south. And the main reason why football is the most popular sport in the country is due to its immense popularity among white conservatives who are the majority in this country.

I'd say it's becoming more of an elitist sport in the U.S. than white trash. $300 little league bats and elite travel teams make it tough to make it as a poor kid. Obviously you can succeed without all of that crap, look at Latin players, that's why I said in the U.S.

That clip had some ridiculous leaps of logic. First of all, the graph begins with MLB's decline of popularity due to the strike. Then they ignore the middle of the graph and show a one year window where MLB's popularity happened to increase and average incomes decreased to show that baseball is an inferior good. Ridiculous. If you increase the sample size beyond 1 freaking year and go back to 2001, MLB's popularity and median household income have both decreased, which could suggest that median household income is directly proportional to the popularity of baseball.

Well done sir. You are obviously smarter, more interesting, and probably better looking than the 73million paid attendance for 2011 MLB games (not counting TV viewers) and the additional 5 million+ paid attendance for various Minor League games.
