May be the most exciting LSU basketball game I have ever seen.

My freshman year. My god, was that fun.

If only we were that good now. Sooo wish I was around to see the Deaf Dome.

I was looking for this on youtube the other day. It is the game I mentioned on the thread about the loudest most exciting game witnessed in the PMAC. LSU basketall actually had fans back then.

Ha-ha...look at the 10-K coolers in the background.

the save by Jackson was pretty incredible. Daddy Dale gave one of his Norman Vincent Peale speeches during the time out.

That video is fake!
Never happened! Can't be.
A large sell out crowd? Loud? Quality teams playing?
We've been told LSU was not a basketball school.
Sure looked like one to me when I was there.

I was there for UNLV and Marymount too, but am pretty sure it was a little later.
The Tigers beat UNLV 107-105 (after the Rebels sank a meaningless 3-pointer at the buzzer) and beat Loyola 148-141 in OT.
Best two men's games I ever saw.

Jackson was an incredible talent but Blanton was the leader and stabilizing presence on that team. It's too bad Roberts and H. Boudreaux were academically ineligible that year. They really would have helped. Either that or give Blanton a 6th year of eligibility and the next's year's team with O'Neal and Roberts could have gone all the way.

What an awesome game... I was lucky to see some good basketball while at LSU from '88-'92.
I miss those high scoring games. It seem like back then, the SEC was a great offensive league with teams routinely scoring 70+ points.
It feels like ages since LSU put a team on the court that could light up the scoreboard like that...
