10 years old: grandad gave me his Browning 20 gauge. He still has the Sweet 16 to go with it, but I'll probably end up with it one day.

At 10, I lost my benjamin pump. I think what then happened was, my parents bought me a Winchester 1200 12 gauge. I later found the Benjamin, but the parents kept the shotgun for me anyway. I opened the box of shells first, and was very confused.
That was too much gun for me BTW. Many a grackle and yellowhammer died though.

.22 Remington single shot bolt action. I was probably 8 or so, it's been a while. Shot it for the first time under the Huey P. Narrow bridge. Got it with Top Value stamps.

My father bought me a .410 single-shot, break-over. I was between 8-10.
I wish I still had it.

Brand new youth model 20ga pump for my 10th birthday. Killed me first squirrel, rabbit, and deer with it. My brother stole it a few years later and pawned it for drugs

.22 Marlin that belonged to my Grandfather when I was about 12 (1972). It was the gun I learned to shoot when younger and it was passed down to me when he passed away. I still have it.........

My first firearm was a crack barrel .410. I got that when I was about 5. I actually got that before I got my first pellet gun. My parents later told me that the logic behind that was that I was not allowed to shoot the shotgun by myself so a responsible adult had to be with me. The pellet gun however, I was on my own with that so I couldn't have that until I was a little older and more responsible.
This will probably be the approach that I take with my child in a couple of years.

Marlin Model 60 .22. Maternal Grandfather's gun. Love that gun. It's a squirrel killing tack driving machine.
After that 870 Express for graduation from HS.
Things took off from there.
