He was at UF for one year, correct? He also made Henne a 2nd round draft pic.

Also made it to be a NFL quarterback. And very good in college. Again, nobody cares about what happened in the NFL.

Neither of their mechanics are pitiful. Brantley has a good throwing motion.

One of them was evidently talking shite about Bama gymnastics attendance last night, so precedent for this kind of dumbfrickery has been established.

The same ones were flaming the Paterno thread today as well for his involvement in all of that. I'll be interested if Mett and Jeremy Hill get their support after their involvement in the crimes they committed.

How about you stop posting in a thread concerning Auburn, and shut the frick up. That'd work much, much better.

Well, with your obviously superior knowledge of QB mechanics, go talk to Miles and get you a job cause you will obviously do a better job than anyone on that staff.

Run back to the Tiger Rant and leave your weak flames there.

Sweet rebuttal. What exactly was wrong with Brantley's mechanics? I'm assuming you can give me an educated answer since you are so adamant about it.

Mental Note: DGB and The Doc are better opinions on OC and QB coaching techniques than:

Lloyd Carr -
quote:

“Talk to any quarterback Scot's ever coached,” said Carr on Wednesday. “They'll all say the same thing: His meetings are unbelievable. You're gonna learn the game and he makes it fun. His expectations are high. But they're not unrealistic.”

Gene Chiz -
quote:

"Scot is a rising star who has worked with some very good quarterbacks and has achieved a tremendous amount of success," Auburn coach Gene Chizik said. "He is a tireless worker, is an outstanding recruiter and knows the rigors of competing in this conference. We're very excited to have Scot join our staff and we welcome him to the Auburn family."

quote:

Temple's offensive coordinator doesn't flaunt the fact. But he's one of the best and oldest friends of football's best quarterback, Tom Brady...

Like his friend Brady, Loeffler is a videotape freak. He watches game films not of necessity but because he loves to analyze football. It's why he's as good as he is at his job.

When they became friends back in the late '90s, Loeffler was a Michigan student assistant from the rustbelt area of northeast Ohio whose career had been cut short by a chronic shoulder injury. Brady was a camp mutt from California who idolized the analytical genius of Joe Montana and had used his savvy to vault more heralded Drew Henson into the U-M starting job.

Unable to play any longer, Loeffler was the young Brady's advocate to the coaching staff while he sat below Brian Griese on the Michigan depth chart.

They saw the game the same way. Carr remembers the two of them bonding over the <> knob of a tape editing machine:

“They spent a lot of time watching film together. I think it just built up over time. Eventually it evolved into a great friendship.”

In a break from prep work for Saturday's game with Penn State at Lincoln Financial Field, Loeffler suggested on Thursday he and Brady are pretty much cognitive twins: “We're very similar, to be honest. We think the same way. We love the position the same way. We love to study it. We are overachievers in every sense. And we hit it off from day 1 when he walked in as a true freshman.

Brady in many ways was Loeffler's first protege, his first pupil, even though he was only three years older.

“I was able to begin my coaching career with him,” said Loeffler. “It was a great experience; as much as I was able to give him, he gave to me.

“We talk every three weeks or so and it's the same old Brady and the same old Scot.”

Auburn’s new offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler has coached six NFL quarterbacks and still maintains a working relationship with seven-time Pro Bowl quarterback Tom Brady, who will play in his fifth Super Bowl with the New England Patriots in two weeks.

In his two years as Florida’s quarterback coach from 2009-10, GatorBait.net senior writer Franz Beard got a firsthand look at Loeffler, who goes by the nickname Lefty, as a coach, recruiter and person.

“Lefty is a calm guy, He’s not a very vocal guy but very patient. He’s a terrific guy as far as working with fundamentals -- footwork, where the hands go, where arm goes,” Beard said. “He knows it so well that his first spring at Florida, I looked over there and there’s Drew Henson, Drew Stanton -- a couple of NFL guys that were there to get their fundamentals worked on in the offseason.

“He works with Tom Brady on fundamentals during the offseason, that’s how much Tom Brady has respect for him. You look at his record, when he was at Michigan, every single quarterback he coached ends up in the NFL so he must be pretty good at what he does.”

Beard said Loeffler is an effective recruiter without having to use negative tactics when meeting 1-on-1 with prospects.

“As a recruiter, he’s a guy that appeals to a kid’s logic. He’s not going to come in there and negative recruit on people,” he said. “He’s going to take the positive that Auburn has to offer and he’s very effective at doing that and making it seem to kids like, ‘Wow, I really would be stupid to go someplace other than where this guy is.’ He’s really extraordinary in doing that. I think it’s one of his strengths.

Loeffler should also be a hit in the interview room according to Beard.

“He’s a very easy-going guy, easy to talk to and very approachable,” he said. “If you ask him a question, he’ll give you a straight answer. That’s one of the things I always liked about him when he was here at Florida. He doesn’t beat around the bush and gives you very straight forward answers.”

Don't bring up facts and actual knowledge to this thread. It might make DBG look foolish and we don't want that.
