Bio from Temple site:

Scot Loeffler, who has 13 years of coaching experience on the collegiate and NFL levels, enters his first season as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Temple University.
Loeffler spent the last two seasons at the University of Florida as the quarterbacks coach. He led a Florida quarterback unit that led the nation in pass efficiency (167.3) in 2009. They passed for 3,305 yards for 28 touchdowns with just five interceptions. Florida ranked second in the SEC in passing offense with an average of 236.1 yards per game. Loeffler guided Tim Tebow in his final season at Florida, during which he passed for 2,895 yards and 21 touchdowns, finishing his senior year with a passing efficiency of 164.17. The quarterback left Florida with five NCAA, 14 SEC and 28 UF records.
Loeffler spent one season in the NFL with the Detroit Lions, where he guided a quarterback unit that threw for 2,960 yards in 2008.
Prior to joining the Lions, Loeffler coached the quarterbacks at his alma mater, the University of Michigan, for six seasons, guiding second-round draft pick Chad Henne. Under the tutelage of Loeffler, Henne became the first true freshman QB to lead his team to a Big Ten title and start in a BCS bowl game. Henne set school marks in career passing yards (9,715), touchdowns (87), completions (828) and attempts (1,387). He helped develop John Navarre into the team’s first All-Big Ten first-team quarterback since 1997.
A Barberton, Ohio, native, Loeffler served as Central Michigan’s quarterbacks’ coach for two seasons in 2000-01.
A quarterback for the Wolverines from 1993-96, Loeffler received his bachelor’s degree in 1996. He helped guide two NFL quarterbacks in Tom Brady and Brian Griese as a graduate and student assistant at Michigan and was a part of the Wolverine staff during the 1997 undefeated season and National Championship title. He has seen the quarterbacks he coached at Michigan go on to play in 219 regular-season NFL games, including 196 starts. In addition, those players have garnered a combined four Super Bowl rings as pros.
Born Nov. 1, 1974, Loeffler and his wife Amie have two children, son Luke (7) and daughter Alexis (1).

Is it about what the expectations were or were you guys hoping to bring in someone from NFL?

Why did it take so long to make this hire?

Good history with QB's has NFL experience. Do like.

I don't know shite about this guy but he coached Tebow and Tebow had to overhaul his throwing mechanics just to get drafted as a quarterback.
Not sure about the hire but I am irritated as hell waiting 5 weeks for a college guy we could have had in place for 2 or 3 weeks recruiting.

when a team is a coach down the HC gets a little more leeway to access recruits, no?

You are telling me it took 40 days to get this guy to leave Temple!

That's what happens when you strike out on your top guys, and you get a plan B guy.
Loeffler is creative, but he doesn't develop QB's very well. I like his offense, but I'm not a big fan of his QB coaching. He did nothing for Tebow or Brantley as a coach. He's an above average recruiter, didn't do anything to really help UF as a recruiter or hurt us.

Kind of upset that it took so long for this hire. Maybe we had an NFL guy and he backed out. But Loeffler is a qb guru, which is what we need. He has a hot mess on his hands at that position. Ill be glad if we just have some clear direction on O. Know what we do well and real competition for playing times (on both sides of the ball.)

Trying to put Brantley in the spread was a bad idea anyway...

Other targets were missed. No other reason it took over a month to get a guy from Temple.

Far from it playa.

Not a bad hire, but not a BVG hire either. It falls short of all the NFL expectations for sure.
Also, being the QB coach for Tebow will give alot negative recruiting ammo for other schools when it comes to QB recruting.
