Looks very possible. my biggest concern is how well the LB's step in and perform. But I feel we might see the start to become a strength on the team. We shall see.

Should we be concerned about TM7 getting matched up against a taller WR?

TM will play the same role he had this year....he will take the outside in our base 4-3 (which we are rarely in) and then move down to the nickel which we spend most of the game in anyways. When that happens David Jenkins and/or Jalen Collins will come in and they are both 6'1"....the only question is whether those guys are ready but with Coop I have no doubt.

I am concerned about CB position....TM7 is the shizzle on ST but he's been exposed as a CB too much.

Nice job lc. I think T. Jones at linebacker is primed for a big season as well. The early season game against the Huskies will be a good measuring stick. A couple of the incoming freshmen will likely make quick contributions as usual. Team is loaded. Let's just hope the coaches learn from their mistakes. If they do, the players are good enough to win every game.

Really think TM7 would be more effective at FS but what the hell do I know.

Linebacker is still weak, have to disagree there

QB is so much stronger, I'll even take the untested frosh behind him, O line will be mauling peeps

I think that there will be a battle for the starting linebacker spots. A lot of younger guys chomping at the bit.

Wow, I appreciate the optimism, Lynx Cat, but you forgot one thing. The Hat is still our coach and the midget is still at Alabama.

Welter and Muncie are my sleepers, hope they get real playing time. Also I hope Clement has a break out year at TE and maybe travis dickson gets some snaps somewhere

Clement should be a monster with Mett.

really think Bama gets rolled in TS next year. I will be disappointed if we don't win by double digits. It might be the loudest TS has ever been

I'm one of those downers who say lsu will never really be able to get even with bama. We can win the next 10 in a row and it wont make up for this last one.

Possibly.

-LB is a huge question mark. None of the guys playing have really proven to be every down players...

-Losing a lockdown corner and a sure safety (a guy who is generally in place/smart/heady) can kill a secondary.

-Lack of a big WR could be hurtful.

-Having another DT emerge next to Logan.

Those are the 3 major question marks.

Definite concern, but we typically only play 2 LBs consistently. Minter needs to step up to be the rock in the middle. We have plenty bodies to find another capable OLB, IMO.

Brandon Taylor will probably be the biggest loss on defense, IMO. I don't think people realized how good he was in our defensive scheme. He played everywhere -- sure tackler, speed to the ball, and could cover the slot without us worrying. Really going to miss him back there.

I expect Wright to be a sleeper. He has never had the chance/never been needed with Randle on the team.

We are 6 deep at the position. Johnson should be the guy that becomes the starter next to Logan.

I would love TM7 at FS. I think it would fit him very well, actually. Simon can match up on tall WRs though so TM7 shouldn't have to worry about that. Very few schools have two very capable tall WRs.

If the LBs and WRs step up, I see us being better - player for player - than 2011. Of course, good fortune with injuries, etc. will play a big part in determining whether we can repeat as SEC champs and return to the BCS NCG. We had a relatively major injury free 2011 except on the OL.

This is true.

Minter worries me a bit because he's really one-dimensional (at least at this point). We do have a lot of young meat at the position and certainly some guys with promise.

I agree partially.

He locked everything up on the back end.

But Mo is a huge loss too. Alabama didn't throw a single pass at Mo in the National Championship game. Having a guy that can lock down one side of the field allows your D so many freedoms, especially when one of your top playmkers is a freelancer like Mathieu.

That being said, we do have a lot of young guys that can be very, very good.

Indeed. Lots of capable bodies there.

Agreed again.

Overall, yes, this has the potential to be the best team.

I'm not concerned with TM7 vs taller receivers. I'm not even sure he will always play his position. Chavis may continue to use him as bit of a free lancer.

If Mett can even come close to living up to the hype then I think so.

Who backs him up and comes in if god forbid he gets hurt? No more Kiel, so it will have to be Rivers or Randall, which is a scary thought. Just no depth behind Mett.
