consider our LB play has been as bad as anything else this year and all...

You really don't have a clue do you?

In past years we had multiple massive DLinemen that were constantly being rotated in, and great DB's both talented and great coaching (cooper).

thus: the LB's could wreck shop and run freely making plays look easy.

Go read a SI article or something and come back and tell us what you "know" or have "seen"

Lamar Louis is that you?

that play just looked like they were afraid gurley was gonna make a cut on them or something. Either that or they were thinking playaction. Either way, it's as if all the linebackers hesitated on that play. Hell, Welter was left unblocked. Weird.

agreed

I think they were more worried about forcing him back to all the help inside rather than risk him bouncing one and housing it

we're not used to it coming from welter.

Don't think you would know what to look for if you were paid to... Coach Egg

Chief has forgotten more about football than you will ever know. Ill go ahead and trust him when it comes to LB's. DB's however I just don't know anymore...

quote:

f) A couple of plays that are telling: 1) 13:33 youtube mark, Welter appears to read the play, and should have hit Gurley 3 yds behind the LOS. Instead he whiffs. It's unclear to me how he completely whiffed (don't take my word; watch it and see for yourself).

Define Whiffs?

Pretty positive he made the tackle on that play... Looked like he read the play, filled the hole, and worked back inside instead of up the field past the line of scrimmage (thus preventing an easy cutback) and made the hit. That's pretty textbook LB play slappy, get use to it.

quote:

To paraphrase Herm Edwards, "You blitz to win the game. You BLITZ to win the game."

I truly hope the Chief doesn't mail-in another crappy, listless defensive game plan the rest of this season. Once is enough.

We cant blitz like we have in the past, simply because our DB's are struggling bad bad and we don't have 10 guys playing/rotating in on the DL like we are accustomed to

quote:

I still want to see Copeland at middle linebacker. He'd be a damn nightmare to running backs!

highly, highly doubtful. maybe in a drill such as the big cat. but in a real game he would be lost like a fart in a hurricane.

quote:

They had this rule for the oregon game but we pressured them into opening up at like 10...there was a long line to get in the lot before 9.

This is true, we got to the lot around 10, drove right in set up shop got our duck calls out and started cracking cold ones and oregon fans by 10:30

I didn't see the scrimmage but he went 8-11 for 98 yards, 73% completion percentage.

From the 3 Saturday scrimmages ive attended im simply not impressed with a scrambling fumbling QB. Yea hes fast that's awesome, but prob 75% of this board could go 8-11 against the 3rd defense...

Jennings didn't look very impressive in the scrimmage on Saturday... Had multiple fumbled shotgun snaps, had a fumble on one of his scrambles. And didn't seem to have any accuracy when he did actually throw the ball. Overall I'm just not impressed with the guy yet.

I'm 99.9% sure if you are academically ineligible to play, you can't practice either.

Amazing how you can be that sure and be wrong. Yes, he and Tahj Jones practiced every day just like a normal football season.

quote: The guy sat behind one of the premier MLB's in all of college last year and all you can say is his lack of numbers? He wasn't eligible to play last year...

...And? What's your point?

He practiced everyday, so what again is your point Harry Coleman?

Oh yea
“D.J. is having a hell of a spring right now,” Barrow said. “As long as he keeps progressing, nobody is going to beat him.”

quote:

He won't be starting after the first game or two

And you know this how? Please teach us your ways of seeing into the future. Cause obviously you don't have any faith in Chief...

And Barrow seems pretty happy outside, and has been very successful there, Don't see him moving to the inside IMO

Yea the 1 Offense ran that play a number of times and the entire front 7 bit. And Mett was left out in space and just slinging it downfield.
Coming from a retired High School football coach: if your not constantly coaching a player up/yelling at them then you usually don't care to much about them. If a player messes up and doesn't get yelled at thats when you need to worry cause obviously that coach doesn't give a shite about that player.

.

Oh yea by the way Maximus and Lester Earls please go home to your shanties and quit going watch practice every day, cause you obviously know more than all of the coaches combined.

tigerjunior DJ Welter at MLB I'm hoping he does get to play now and shuts everyone up with outstanding play.

quote:

wow, didn't realize they listed him at 6'0". he was 6'2" at LSU and 6'1" at the combine per NFL.com.

well then, I think they may measure out roughly the same, height and weight wise.

He's 6'0" maybe 6'1" but hes definitely 245 lbs.
quote:

here's a real possibility that Feist could do that this year. He was given plenty of chances last offseason to assert himself but came up a little short. They are still high on him.

He will definitely play a lot of LB this year or move to DE.

DE?? He's listed at 6'2 but he's actually like 6'1 and weighs like 220 he would get destroyed at DE and has not impressed me in the least at MLB. He needs at least another year to learn the schemes and maybe even move to OLB. IMO

The House is pretty much shut down now, just saying.

I've heard Minter's parents have all but flat out said he would be entering the draft
'

From what he’s told me and the way he is playing this season, Florida game especially, I cant see him coming back for another season. This is his 4th year he enrolled early and red shirted.
LSU @ 6
USC @ 8??
only good thing that can come out of our one loss is if we could somehow get to beat down USC in a bowl game.
quote:

Are you kidding? Quit watching on the radio. They do throw at Mills more, but Simon has been thrown on a bunch with success. I'd say obviously: Montgomery and Mingo Wing Possibly (meaning 40% chance or better): Reid Ware Maybe (meaning 1%-39% chance): Simon Ford

Wing? Hasn't really done much this season, needs to stay another year and have another 2011 style season IMO

And Tharold is gone if he has any chance in the first 4 rounds. Have known him since HS and just have a feeling hes gone. Then again he could come back and show out and skyrocket his draft stock.

If minter stays

Tahj Minter Barow
(all veterans and most knowledgable about our D)
And the frosh this year need some help from them to develop and get better. Some are obviously behind the learning curve a bit and need the older guys to lead by example and pass on the knowledge.

If minter goes.

Always keep the old USMC 10% rule in the back of your mind when visiting away FB stadiums. There will always be 10% shite birds in any walk of life and they are the ones who give institutions, groups, etc. a bad reputation. Bad is what is always reported, not good, there is nothing dramatic about treating a fan from another school with respect and insuring he/she have a good time. On the other hand, assholes and their deeds are always reported. LSU is no different that any of the other schools in the country, the majority of the fans are great people, its the 10% shite birds that you must avoid at all cost.
