On the long Graham touchdown, why didn't Jimmy just fall down at the 1 yard line? We could have run out the clock and had 4 tries to get 1 yard to win it.

Wow...
You hear stories about things like this but you never actually think you will see them in person.

Cause he can't see the future?
Also remember how GB game ended?

Yes, you are. You consider that when all you need is a fieldgoal to win. I'm fairly confident that what you proposed has literally never happened in the history of organized football.

Well, if you run the clock down you won't have time for four plays

If winning, sure. Not when you're losing though.
When losing, take the sure thing because anything could happen. Fumbled snap, etc..

Actually it happens occasionally. I remember Maurice Jones-Drew did it a couple years ago. Fell down at the one instead of scoring to run out the clock...but then I think the Jags were up at the time.
It's risky, but hey, it's the NFL and 1:37 in the NFL playoffs is waaay more time than you want to give any team. I remember when Alex Smith ran that QB run to the left for the TD I was thinking "Thank God he scored instead of just falling at the 2". We lose right there if he had done that. But then again they were up like the MJD situation. And the Saints two-minute offense is a lot more dangerous than the 49ers and you don't expect Greg Williams to run all out blitzes at that point either so whatever.

Jimmy can do alot.
Jimmy just can't time travel.
Yet.

the only reason he did this was because the Jags were winning by a few scores and he didn't want to run the score up... jax was just trying to run the clock out and he broke a long run IIRC

Could be considered if a field goal wins it. If you need a touchdown you MUST score. End of story.

Bryant Westbrook for Philadelphia fell down at the 1 on purpose, once

why didn't our defense hold them back?

not to mention the 49ers goaline/redzone defense is ridiculous.

It probably would have won us the game if he did it, but I don't blame him. We needed the TD

This is the one reason why I think its not a slam dunk, fall down at the inch yard line. Other than that. Take a knee at the inch line, make them take a time out. Punch it in from there with 3 downs... at least you would have run some time off and forced them to use TO's.
