This is what I hate most about sport commentators. They just listen to each other talk, and then spew out the uninformed consensus opinion without looking at the facts realistically and unbiased. LSU's offense can hold their own against any defense in the NCAA, including Bama's.

You can't take anything he says seriously. He's only there for comic relief.

If he had said that we don't have a good QB, then it would be tough to argue that point. The truth is that our offense is surprisingly good considering that we have such poor QB play.

I just heard what he said. He also said that while our yards per game are below the national average, we are also in the top ten percent of points scored, and that with our defense, we don't need to score alot of points because we don't turn the ball over and we play smart football.

Realizing he has made many anti-LSU remarks, at least he tried to explain this negativity in a positive way. I think he was just saying that, in terms of yardage, LSU doesn't look like much. But he then basically said our defense prevents our offense from gaining so many yards due to starting field position.

The irony is that Lou's signature win was the huge upset against Okla. while using a strong running game and tough defense with very little passing.
And he suspended his top rusher before the game.

Come on man, Lou will always be the other side of any LSU argument. He gets paid $$$$ to get us in a uproar. He used to piss me off, now I just laugh. Just like I do win he states his ND BS beginning every year.

I'm pretty sure we didn't break at least 35 points in only two games this year. He cites the fact that we don't have many yards, but hey Lou, you wanna check the scoreboard?

I think somebody needs to explain to Lou that great special teams and a great defense usually translates to a shorter field on scoring drives....and that when your defense is pitching shutouts that you tend to just control the clock with conservative play calling.

Lou Holtz is an idiot. Still hard for me to believe he is a NC coach!

Lou can talk his talk But IMO...If Les Miles would let his offensive coaches call the plays and do their job, we would see a more explosive offense. If its an important call like 4th down well thats different. Otherwise, let those coaches call the plays.

Lou Holtz also said LSU defense would have a rough time stopping Arkansas offense because most of LSU's points were due to mistakes made by the other team, and Arkansas offense won't make the mistakes that LSU relies on so much. Holtz is a senile old man who still thinks his 03 South Carolina team was better then the 03 LSU team.

LSU's opponent Monday couldn't beat a team who failed to score a touchdown against them at their own house.

I am really worried that dementia or something has set in on him.
A friend of mine played under Holtz at Arkansas and he has been saying this same thing since his playing days.
