They think that they can bring in Paul Johnson and make him drop "that goofy option so he can recruit four and five star players".

Good luck with that. Johnson's made his career with that option and gotten into a BCS bowl with it.

You won't find a more delusional fan base. They still think Paterno is going to be vindicated any day now.

No way in hell would Mike Munchak leave an up and coming playoff caliber NFL HC gig for PSU.

It's hard to understand how Richt continues to have a "good boy" reputation with all the thugs he has recruited and signed through the years.

Personally, he's probably a nice guy. But that has not translated to his recruits, IMO.

It is his persoanl rep, from the way he acts outside of football

Agreed, which is what I alluded to in my last sentence in my post above.

But to repeat, his squeaky clean reputation has not translated well to the recruiting or otherwise the management of his team's players, which is what I would think Penn State would be most interested in looking for in a coach.

It's more interesting to see what name is missing from the list.

If I were a Gump, I would not sleep easy until this job is filled.

Rumor is they are willing to pay top 5 money.

Dec 15 Interview

2 minutes in, acting AD refutes 'less emphasis'.

Not exactly. Delusional is the preferred Bammer state of mind.

#1 reason that Dan Mullen has withdrawn any interest in this job.

Rumor is Alabama is willing to pay top 5 money.

Oh wait, that's not a rumor. It's true.

And if Saban leaves, he leaves. No losing sleep over that.

Richt said it's not a matter of if the current talks between he and McGarity will be completed, but when.

"I love Georgia - it's a great place. It's our home and I want it to remain our home for a long time. I'm thankful that Georgia wants me to be here and I certainly want to be at Georgia"

Only realistic names on that list are Paul Johnson and Pat Fitzgerald. And I don't think its anywhere close to a given either of those guys would go. Taking that job is one of the few where its not really about the money.
