I think you have to think of it from an LSU student's perspective. "Getting around Baton Rouge" means getting around the general vicinity of campus. All of those roads turn into parking lots from like 3 till 8.

You can't deny that BR's road system sucks...it takes 45 minutes to get from one part of town to the other.

As a student ride a bike. I did. At least all around campus.
And while BR roads leave much to be desired we are lightyears ahead of where we were ten years ago with roads finally being fourlaned and built.

Not talking about on campus (can't drive there anyway), talking about all the feeder streets outside of campus (most of which are still two lanes, exception being burbank and part of nicholson).

sounds like I'm the more rational and, obviously, smarter person here. just my $0.02.
I'd imagine that Wink is probably marginally smarter than you
At any rate I'll agree that Metairie does have a lot of suck
There are a few convenient places not far off of I10 that I don't mind going to but I don't like the surface street traffic there either.

The problem with Baton Rouge is there are no shortcuts.
In Metaire or Kenner and need to get to New Orleans? and Interstate is stuck?
You can take Airline, Earhart, or even West Esplanade to Carrolton(not THE Carrolton) Hammond Highway to Robert E LEE, Mirabeau, (Lakeview, Gentilly, etc)
There are not loops, but there are options, and with those options there are side streets.
Take Baton Rouge.
You are on Siegen and need to get Downtown and 1-10 is a parking lot. You can take Airline (clusterfrick sometimes) to Florida, to downtown but if you look at it, you are going way out of your way. So on a map you take the more direct route.
Which would be Burbank or Perkins, but both bottleneck. Then you have to drive through campus.
So there is no real way to avoid traffic in that scenario.
Plus when you do have roads you can take the side streets do not parallel the roads or you are limited on routes.
Baton Rouge has a strange layout. A loop would have solved a lot of problems, btw.

It's just a guess
And I think she's pretty bright so don't take it as an insult

Not sure how you come to that conclusion
Posted on 12/1/11 at 9:33 pm to Napoleon
Pretty much agree with all of that.
And why doesn't B.R. have a loop? The rednecks voted it down??

Funny how no one is questioning his own conclusion
It's not like I think either one is a dumb arse
I certainly don't think that R2R is some brilliant dude that is obviously smarter than wink

R2r is smart. Wink is just highly opinionated and ornery.

Honest to God, I'm still not sure whether you are truly full of shite as you seem to be or whether you continue to frick with us. I wish you had the balls to engage someone in open debate, but you don't. I think you're just a phony with a modest . . . and I do mean modest . . .flair for writing. Unfortunately, this site appears to be your primary outlet.

I happen to enjoy is posts on the food board
It would seem quite apparent that some of it is definitely intended as humor to get under the skin of the NOLA snobs.
If you guys aren't clever enough to figure that out then that makes it even funnier.

So fricking tired. Who the he'll are you talking about with this stupid played out line, anyway?

Powerman has a serious inferiority complex towards NOLA people.
You have to be really smart to catch on to it, though.
