Actually I don't find the traffic that bad. Nothing close to Baton Rouge.
ah, bringing out the big guns. solidifying that nobody can argue your point. might as well have referenced the 101 between Van Nuys and Echo Park.

The only place where Veterans traffic is bad is between Cleary and Causeway. And that's only because everyone in New Orleans and the Northshore goes to Lakeside to do their bidding. And it's only really bad during Christmas. It's moderate on Saturdays the rest of the year, but I would hardly call it a traffic problem.

When do finals start at DCC?
Posted on 12/1/11 at 2:22 pm to Rickety Cricket
I decided that when the summer semester ended, I would take my talents elsewhere. I am no longer enrolled at DCC, but thanks for thinking of me.

I'll say a prayer to St. John Bosco that you settle down in your academic endeavors

Tulane, do you ever eat on Broad St (South Broad area between Tulane and Turead)?
I never have and I notice it is dotted with smaller Mom and Pop style places. A nice Steak house and some decent looking seafood shops. I know its not a great area, and it straddle Gentilly, Mid-City and Uptown. But if you have any recommendations for that area I'd like to try them.
Some one on here mentioned Manchu and I liked what I had, and you mentioned Sammy's in Gentilly and I have been there three times since your thread.
Definitely don't agree with every top ten, but the lists are helpful when looking for new places.

It is.. But also, why does Interstate construction take so long in Louisiana?
It's been going on for over a decade nonstop in Baton Rouge and Metaire/NOLA.
Damn in Austin the built whole new roadways and loops, in less than half that time.

I do, and if I had not been taken from my duties here by my duties to another's health this morning, I would have continued our tour of the neighborhoods of New Orleans with the 7th Ward & Treme, along with the greatness that is some of the top black Creole independent restaurants in town.

I am against opening chain restaurants especially BWW because I hate that place. But if I had the money,I would open up an In n Out Burger on that Severn property. It would make a killing.

Well I have only lived in Jefferson Parish and Baton Rouge (for 7 years). The traffic is much worse in Baton Rouge.

I'm in my Junior year at LSU and agree 100% that traffic is AWFUL in Baton Rouge...Getting around the New Orleans area is a bazillion times faster and there's more back ways so that you don't always have to take interstate or the main roads.

If you know how to get around Baton Rouge or New Orleans neither is too bad. People just need to know how to drive.
And I had a fried shrimp salad today at Parrains on Vets an old mom and pop place.

After reading some reviews I want to give it a try, looks like they have good prices on aged steaks.

It is worth a try Zach. The place has been in business since 1934, they have to be doing something(actually more than one)right. It is an old school no frills type of place. I really dig it.
