Nice of him to throw this in for pretty much no reason.

"But I can tell you this. Jarrett Lee is our starting quarterback. And if he continues to play well and continues to do the things that we ask him to do and leads our team, then that's the way we'll go from this point forward."
If Miles had been this forceful when announcing the reinstatement, there might have been less tension.

Good read. It gives me more confidence in where the team is.

Gosh, why would the players possibly be unhappy over hearing boos when a teammate enters a game?
Posted on 10/2/11 at 6:11 am to Tigerwaffe
Seems to me that JJ got the boo's but they were meant for Miles' decision to put him in.

The players are happy JJ is back, the coaches are happy JJ is back and he adds a skill set to this team that we will need against Bama, Florida and Arkansas. Keep acting out like children and go ahead and keep booing because it does not affect the team at all. You should be standing by and supporting this team no matter what if you are a true LSU fan.

hopefully, at the end of the year when we win the NC, Miles can stand up and say, "To the booers - we didnt win this for you, you aren't part of this championship". Would be great.

This.
I doubt most fans harbor much negativity towards Jefferson. They (including me) just don't want to mess with a successful team. And they (including me) don't want any doubt floating around in Lee's mind, and opening up any scars from his freshman year.
If Miles would have said prior to the game, definitively, that Lee is the starter going forward (which he SORTA did) and that Jefferson would play a series or two, I think the reaction would have been more favorable.

1) JJ & the players believe that pile of horseshite or
2) care about why?
it's a chickenshit cop out anyway.

It's all the same....It's still directed toward one player. LSU if you're for one, you're for them all.

My Boo is for the fact Les never gave Lee a decent enough chance for action a year ago when he claerly deserved it.
Removeing Lee from our first TD drive of the game after successfully driving the O down the field to that 1/2 yard line sat sour with me.
From that point on the field any of our RB's shouyld have been able to punch it through the goal line.
I don't want to see more QB rotation like we did a year ago. We give ourselves away when we do.
Start Lee, play Lee. If he gets hurt or plays really poorly then we can insert the back up.
NC Game or Bust!

Unlikely. If he said anything that indicated that JJ would play at all, the same thing would have happened. The conspiratorialists would not have been satisfied short of a declaration that JJ was off the team or would not play this season. I took Miles earlier comments as an indication that
JL was and would remain the starter unless he began playing badly. I think that was the reasonable understanding.
Even the quoted statement will looked at by the anti-JJ faction as an example of MIles' looking for an excuse to bench JL for JJ.
Bottom line, the anti-JJ crowd needs to let it go. JL is our starter, as he should be. JJ will play, as the coaching staff deems appropriate. The team seems united and content with this, including Lee. Let's all get behind this team, JJ included.

He explained it perfectly fine on the show. How can Les possibly know how goddamn retarded some of the fans would act?
I make fun of the dumbass contingent all the time (yourself included) and I didn't realize so many would act so embarrassingly juvenile.

FWIW.. it seemed as if JL lost some of his swagger and was looking over his shoulder knowing that at any turn he'd be pulled.
He was right.
He was right.

Maybe that loss of swagger was the reason he was putting those passes on the money but the receivers were dropping them. Derp.

This is a fricking dumb argument. Lee drove them down the field so he should be in the game to hand it off for the td? You people are shitty fans and fricking DUMB. Keep making excuses for why you're fan and boo a guy whose served his time. Pathetic.
