I will buy that the Pac-12 wanted OU, but only if UT followed...

UT gives the Pac-12 Texas in a way that Oklahoma can't.

However, the SEC doesn't need UT to get the state of Texas. It already has its foot in the door with Texas A&M.

Could the stars be aligning for OU to the SEC?

I think only if OSU is coming as well.

Wouldn't it be funny if the SEC added Texas A&M, Texas Tech, OU, and OSU leaving the Horns stuck out in the cold.

I know it has like a .000001% chance of happening, but I would laugh.

OU's problem is/was OSU. TX was needed to overcome that albatross, however, TX not playing nice is the reason they are not going. If TX doesn't reach some sort of reasonable agreement with OU's demand, OU will leave. While they don't want to come to the SEC, it's either us or the BE.

I think this is part of the reason Mizzou isn't set in stone yet

if we can get OU, even with OSU hanging on, sorry Missouri

only if they get rid of OK State, I don't see the SEC adding 2 teams from Oklahoma.

It would be nice to beat up on the Sooners every week instead of just in BCS bowl games.

I would love this for 2 reasons:

#1 It would cause a massive A&M meltdown. Aggie's whole point in making this switch is that it believes it will have a massive recruiting advantage over Texas and OU for elite Texas players. That goes away if OU joins.

#2 I think OU and A&M going to the SEC would launch Texas to the Big 10 and tweak the LHN however it needed to be tweaked to make it acceptable to the Big 10 member schools.

Why would that matter? They would be going to a division with two teams that recruit TX very well already (LSU, AR). Adding OK to the mix isn't going to have AtM that upset. Everyone that borders TX recruits TX - it will never change - mo matter what conference everyone is in.

I'd like to see UT in the B1G.

so, it would get tweaked and you would have to settle on the far-away Big Ten...when you could have tweaked it and saved the Big 12...

I think once the dust clears OU and OSU will be coming along with A&M and Mizzou to the SEC. UT will not bow to OU's demands then OU bolts.

I've said all along it's the conference that makes the most sense for them. It's really the only one I can see them in save the Big 8/12/9.

All that the Horns would need to do is reach out to Team Sweep from the rant to make that little nugget go away. Problem solved move along nothing to see here.....

I think you're misreading the Aggies if you think they'd be upset by OU to the SEC without Texas. I think it would reinforce their belief that Texas is chicken.

However, I think the chips are falling for a Big 12 merger with the Big East to create the first superconference. What a way to rally...

Drunk you make zero sense pal. This would be the worst case scenario for UT. Having to travel to the B1G schools for every sport - while your competitors A&M and OU go to the best conference...
