Lee is proving he can stear the ship, best thing to do is just take our lumps even if we might slip up and lose 1 somewhere, and let Jefferson be the man next year. This gives Rivers 1 more year to learn and become better, meaning that the whole Mettenberger experiment was a waste, but hey it happens all the time in college football.

longhorn22,

STFU, If JJ starts next year, Mett will be gone. Mett didnt come here to ride the pine and Mett is 3 times the qb that Jefferson ever dreamed about.

JJ can only lead is to 100+ level offenses and the bottom of the barrel passing attacks. WTF has anyone seen out of Jefferson to make them believe he is any type of leader or QB?

It will be interesting to see if JJ becomes a team player and stands on the sideline without a mopey look on his face.

All indications have always been that both guys (JJ and JL) are well liked in the locker room. I fully believe that when JJ comes back that:

A. He will be embraced by his coaches and team mates (JL included)

B. He will have a role on this team and IMO the team will be better having him.

Why even worry about him coming back? We have a capable quarterback next year. We dont need to mess it up with another year of JJ. Time to cut the cord.

JJ has never owned any type of leadership role on this team nor has he taken any responsibility for his poor play ever thus he is irrelevant and this team does not miss him in the least making your statement bullshite.

You should try inserting some punctuation into that. And the team apparently does miss him. I bet no one's ever worn your name/number on their bodies on national television.

And even if he doesn't play, having an extra seasoned QB on the roster can't hurt.

ETA: I don't think JJ should redshirt. 'Nuff said. If he can't play this year, it's time for him to get his degree and start his life like the rest of us. Who knows, he may have a future in Canadian Football or the Arena Leagues. He's big and athletic, and has shown flashes of decent QB play.
