I graduated from NLU.

I am so firmly against ULM being in the 1A realm that I have no problem pulling for LSU against them. As a matter of fact, ULM will always be garbage at this level, a loss to them would set the Tigers back with no long term benefit to ULM. Complete fluke, like their Bama victory.

Now, go back down to the correct division and be competitive, I may have a little desire to see them give LSU a run for their money one night...as it would be of huge benefit for them in recruiting for the best 1AA players.

Back in the late 80s and 90s, the NLU games were a ton of fun. Tailgating just starting in the pecan orchard. Now it is a ghost town.

I graduated from a music conservatory, so no football team (although we used to joke about forming one!).

I'm originally from MD, and didn't have a whole lot of interest in college football until I met my wife. Her family is a bunch of LSU grads. At first, I viewed their fandom as an odd curiosity, but what can I say? The bug bit me. I now root for the Tigers before anybody else, even the Terps.

Did undergrad at LSU and graduate work at Northwestern St. Love both schools but it's not even close to a conflict for me when it comes to athletics, its LSU all the way.

Ditto. I graduated from Centenary College with no FB team. Was a fan of LSU since 58.

I was raised to be a Southern Miss fan, attended many football games and had tons of gear. But in the early '90s I switched to LSU b/c of the baseball team and Chris Jackson (fellow Mississippian). Although we suffered through some rough football years then, I have not looked back and I explain that Southern Miss just kept letting me down so I made the switch. When it came to choosing a college, I chose Southern Miss for it's proximity, but I never attended a game (even though they were winning).

I have no problem with this. The same way I have no problem thinking it's ridiculous that every middle-aged white woman in the state of LA are all of a sudden, dyed in the wool Saints fans.

Not the best analogy, I know... but I do think people who have attended the school should naturally feel a bit more associated with the school.

Grew up in Denham Springs. My parents were not big LSU fans. I became an LSU fan while as a boy scout and being an usher in tiger stadium at the age of 11. I attended my freshmen year at LSU. Since then I moved around to four different schools. I graduated from the Univ of Central Florida. If LSU played UCF, LSU all the way! My kids were born in Florida which is where I am now. My kids can't stand any Florida school. All LSU!!

On a related note, I plan on raising my daughter to love LSU, but if that is not where life takes her then I wouldn't be mad at her for cheering for her own school. I doubt that she will completely forget about LSU though.

Was a tiger fan starting 2nd grade. 11 years later when I went to college I was already brainwashed by my dad to have purple blood running through my veins. Sorry NLU...it was not your fault.

I am really glad my dad, a La. Tech grad, raised me a Tiger fan, and I ultimately became the first from my family to graduate from LSU. dad says that a typical Saturday in the fall consisted of going to the Tech game in the afternoon and then listening to the LSU game on some hill where the reception was better. Tech and LSU were in different divisions in those days, and he said that he does not recall anyone considering it as odd to support both. His preference would be for Tech to be I-AA and competing for a title in that division. Regardless, I appreciate the guy who took me to Tiger Stadium, sat with me in the van straining to hear WWL when he was transferred up to Tulsa, and who still catches games with me to this day.

Same in my house. Although, we have a red pile for Univ. of Utah as well.

I was born and raised a Tiger - I fart purple clouds and shite gold dust. For me, there are no other teams. Doesn't matter where I went to school.

I was not trying to offend anyone. The better question would of been, do you ever have conflicting interest when LSU plays the school you attend.

LMAO, 70% of LSU fans didn't even go to college, much less an actual LSU rival. Get real.

this, my dad is one of the biggest tiger fans and he graduated 4.0 from the school of hard knocks
