I finished reading the book a couple of days ago and was looking up some things online when I came across the following link

IT

I don't remember the TV version as I was 3 when it came out, but I'm excited to see Pennywise taken to the big screen

Maybe its because I hadn't read a King book in a couple of years, but I thought it was amazing. Almost 1200 pages and it only took me 9 days. I could hardly put it down.

I put it in the middle of the King pack. I didn't understand some of the paths he chose to go down (I'm thinking about the girl and her "partners".)

The only part that really didn't fit to me too. I think part of it is that it's so disturbing to think about. I doubt that'll make the film though

AT that point in his career King was obsessed with the loss of innocence.

A lot of his innocent characters have to grow up in a disturbing manner to beat the evil in the story.

This movie will be 100% fail. How in the heck can you whittle down a 1200 page book to film?

It can be done but with the two time lines it is going to be very difficult. I say it will fail.

Plus they simply can't top the creepiness that is Tim Curry as a clown.

I didn't care much for the imagery of the lumber whore up in Maine.

This movie was the first "scary" movie I ever watched, I think I was 6 or 7 dont remember. I do remember the nightmares IT gave me for weeks and weeks after watching it. I could not close my eyes at night without seeing the crazy looking clown and I refused to go near a sewer drain for a very long time. I remeber watching it agian a few years later, and it scared the shite out of me again. No other scary/horror movie has ever scared me as much as this movie did, and I honestly dont know why. Hopefully I can man up and go watch it on the big screen, but if yall hear a grown arse man crying in the back of the theater yall know its me

The funny thing is it's only the clown that's scary. The rest of the stuff probably seems pretty dated by now.

The part where the boys are looking at the book and Pennywise comes to life and then sticks his hand out of the book, yeah I was terrified when that happened.

HBO miniseries not a movie. That is the way they should have gone.

They should do the same with DarkTower now that it has once again fallen into development hell.

Loved the book, loved the mini series. Pennywise is one of the scariest incarnations ever televised. The one gripe most fans of the book had was the IT in its natural form. It was like a big amimatronic spider thingy thing that wasn't scary at all. Perhaps with CGI what it is now they will be able to make the monster as scary as it was in the book.

That clown still scares the shite out of me. I don't know if I could go see that one.

Agreed on Pennywise, but It is one movie I've never had a problem if they remade it. Choosing to make it into a single movie may end up being a mistake, but the old TV movie doesn't hold up well at ALL.
