It's hard for IT to take a form like that and still seem to be scary to an audience unless they have dealt with those things.
I promise you that any movie audience would find a way to rag on IT if the monster at the end for the adults was those different iterations of fear for each adult character as it was in the book.
Dude I know what IT represents. I meant the CGI or whatever looked terrible, similar to the snake in Anaconda but not quite that bad.
