Small Creamery in Mt. Hermon that had a major explosion a few weeks ago is being helped by competitor Klienpeter's Dairy. Pretty cool story. Hell, I don't even drink Milk, but this makes me wanna buy only these two Dairy products. Hats off to the folks at Klienpeters's..........

I know someone who works for Borden Milk and I will say that Kleinpeter and Borden are competitors like coke/pepsi.

prolly, but in today's world, to see a story like this is heart warming. Even tho I can buy a gallon of milk for 2 bucks cheaper than Klienpeter's, I think we will start supporting them because of this.
I have heard many people say they like the Smith's product as well. I think they sell "Raw" Milk???
Anybody know about this??

According to the news story I saw last night, they either do not pasteurize their milk, or they use a different technique..."old style".

Correct. They also make a fantastic version of creole cream cheese.

I'm not sure what "old style" means, but I was under the impression that the FDA did not allow the sale of unpasteurized milk products in the US.

Bout time they start doing something for local dairy farmers since a large amount of the milk/milk products they sell here comes from a Wisconsin Co-Op.

Smith Creamery's whole milk is one of the best things I've ever put into my mouth. Bring on the whole milk haters, but it's incredible.

It's pastuerized but it's not homogonized
If the food wasn't pastuerized they would have to put a warning label on it by law I believe.
All I know is that Smith's creamery whole milk is definitely a treat. Their chocolate milk is no joke either.

Some states may allow raw milk to be sold retail, but I don't think Louisiana allows this. Smith milk is pasteurized, but not homogenized, hence "the cream rises to the top"

I've heard of them. I don't really know anything but I can get some info tonight. I "think" they're the only cheese producer in the state.

From what I've heard, the Cheese is so good that there is a very high Export demand for it............
