Looking for a place to go for my 21st bday, but being that we are college kids we are somewhat poor. What's the best medium priced steak in BR? When I say medium priced, I mean like 15-25 dollar range

I'd go to Outback and get the grilled prime rib-med rare. Solid and priced well.

Second Outback. J. Alexander's if you're willing to spend a a little more than that.

Why sell yourself short? If you don't want a damn good steak, settle for Outback. They are decent, but no where near the level of the steakhouses are BR.

Outback's food isn't bad or anything. It's priced right imo. I can understand where he's coming from, I'm the same way. No way in hell am I going to Ruth's Chris and paying $30 for a steak on my budget.

Dempsey's, but only when they're offering it as a special.

As others have mentioned, J Alexanders is always consistently good. A little more than Outback, but the quality is considerably better.

Other national chains that may be of interest:

Longhorn
Texas Road House
Logan's

I also hear that Superior Grill serves a pretty good steak.

Just some suggestions.

Did you read his original post. He's looking for a good meal on a budget.

I'd like to have sushi in Vancouver tonight. Alas, time and money make that unlikely.

If you be 21, do you have a grill at home? Do it yourself, get shiited at home avoid that DWI that you know someone is going to get. Go to Fresh Market and get the ingrediets that would produce a sixty dollar meal at a restaurant on the steak itself.

At Ralph's, you can get a decent sized ribeye, prime cut for less than $10.00.

Pick yourself up a nice potato, clean it ... leave it damp, roll in sea salt and wrap in tin foil. Bake for approximately 1.5 hours on 350.

Take that steak out of the refrigerator and let it stand for approximately 1 hour. Season only with sea salt and fresh cracked black pepper.

Get your grill as hot as you can. Think 700 + degrees.

Cook the steak on one side for approximately 6 minutes and then turn over an allow to cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Remove, set aside for 5 minutes and you should have a medium rare to medium steak with a great baked potato. All for less than $12.00 to $13.00.

Hell, if he/she don't know how to do it, I'll volunteer. I feed four for fifteen to twenty total every night, except Sundays my night off.

I agree. If I was on a budget, I'd grab a decent steak at the store, along with a 12 pack, and have my fun at the house.

I ate a ribeye for lunch at Chimes East last week. Cooked to order and was pretty good. $22 bucks I think with a salad and a side.

Never, ever wrap a spud in foil and call it baked, the proper term is oven-steamed.

Outback is a solid choice, but I'd rather the
ribeye & fries at Portobello's...It's a damn good steak. I think it's around $20.

TJ Ribs
the ribeye is 21.95 and comes with a salad and side

I have not had the ribeye but I have had the strip and wife had the filet (both are slightly more than you wanted to spend) and they were fabulous, cooked perfectly and quite tasty

They used to hickory smoke those things and talk about delicious.

For the OP: You're only 21 once. Splurge a little and go to Doe's.
